Transfer Window 26/27 Summer Embargo Window

Or perhaps the deal has now been accepted because we are now confident we can replace in this window?
Do we know if the embargo ends inside this window we can buy players again or have we passed a point where we cant buy until January no matter what?

Hang on a minute. We are a L1 club in every sense right now. We Shoukd be moving our best players on for large sums if we are to be taken seriously.
Plus, if bollard is 4-5m, them mills must be bloody expensive.
Bollard is a rare species a top goalscorer, they always go for more money than any other position

We didn’t agree the permanent deal until February, though, did we?

Why did we do that? Presumably so we were down to five loan players…and then never put Ben Davies in the squad anyway.

Now we take a mega financial hit as a result, completely needlessly.

I know we were up against it in the Championship anyway, but this is the kind of stuff that just drives me nuts.

Yep, drives me nuts as well.

I just think it was an example of really poor decision making, the kind of decision making that has created a bigger financial problem. It was a different scenario but the signing of Roosken last year was equally a strange one, ie didn’t contribute last year, and meant Leigh wasn’t registered etc.

I don’t think Prelec going perm was anything to do with too many loans, if it was then that’s a poor decision. If you have 6 or 7 loans and can only put 5 on a match day squad, you can usually assume that 1 or 2 will usually be unavailable due to injury etc.

I just think over the last 2 seasons there has been a lack of control over our spending, and a lack of strategy. Hopefully that’s now being addressed properly and lessons have been learnt.

I understand that the Mills deal is done and will be announced once Whiteman to Wrexham is officially confirmed. Talk of £3m apparently.

If he’s going for £3m we deserve everything that’s come to us lately and whatever’s next as a direct result.

Would be the latest episode of self sabotage, not to mention another lie we’ll need to 10-point turn our way out of and yet another coach on the victim list before we kick a ball.

Let’s hope it’s just noise for everyone’s sake.

Laughable, really.

Beyond the obvious of now having no one to play right-wing bar Goodrham, which then leaves us short in the 10, or Elliott-Wheeler, who has spent the last couple of years playing full-back in non-league, it wouldn’t be surprising to see this create a domino effect.

If Mills is able to get a move, certain other players may now start to ask the question, which Jerome insinuated on The Dub, and questioning whether they really to be on this sinking ship.

BDK next. Then Helik. Spencer also a concern. This idea of us ‘retaining this squad’ has been shattered.

But it’s alright because the club have really, really, really promised to have it sorted by January. Not like there are many games until then.

I’m sure I’ll be accused of being too negative, or having a ‘meltdown’, but I don’t really care because the truth is that we are in a complete mess.

If Mills does leave am I right in thinking we can bring in a replacement on a free transfer?

Not sure how accurate it is but a quick look on transfer markt shows there are a few right wingers kicking around:

Nathan Redmond
Jordon Ibe
Jonathan Leko
Owen Dale
Andros Townsend
Solly March
Harry Spence
Connor Mahoney

Would any of them be realistic/affordable? There are some familiar names on there on the slide, and of course Owen Dale who ‘could do a job’ in league 1

Stan & his dad have been seen at the KFC @ charnock Richards buying a family bargain bucket this evening it sounds like a done deal .

But has Mills gone?

Ramsey furiously texting his agent to work out how he can get out of this - if we do lose Mills without replacement, we're going down regardless of who manages us.
Some awful sides in this division, we’ll struggle mind, but I thought we would be close to midtable with or without Mills.

Depth in the CF position is poor really & will cause us most issues.

12th at best for us this season, sadly we need to cut the budget and get ourselves back on an even keel ready for the new stadium & get ourselves out of this embargo as soon as possible.

Jesus the state of that list.

What about this scenario?, Mills insists that he wants to leave. I thought he was very quiet in Saturdays game. That moves the goal posts. I like Mills as much as everyone else but he is not irreplaceable. No-one is. Just leaves us short for the time being.

Then we say no. Not ideal, but that's the situation we've created for ourselves.

And unfortunately he isn't replaceable. Whether that's temporary or not, we have no idea really.

New stadium fit for league 2 football ?

Mills is good but not that good
Behave yourself

Yeah I hope so. I clicked on the guys post history on the Preston forum and there is lots of confirmed stamps next to transfers that he has posted going way way back. Seems like he doesn't get it wrong that often but let's hope he has this time.

Will be disappointed if it's only 3 mil but beggars can't be choosers it seems.

Don’t think we can complain if he does get sold but I’d hope it’s for more than 3 million

Sadly the price we may have to pay for financial mismanagement & spending our budget the last two seasons on players who were not good enough to sustain us at championship level with next to no sell on value.

Not much to get the pulses racing amongst them especially with the standard that some of them been playing at.

Nathan Redmond - been on trial at Charlton so sees himself as a championship player still

Jordon Ibe - career completely collapsed following personal issues. Sittingbourne and Hungerford are recent clubs.

Jonathan Leko - did very little at MK last couple of seasons in L2.

Owen Dale - we know

Andros Townsend - 35 and been playing in Thailand

Solly March - wages will be big

Harry Spence - been playing in Singapore

Connor Mahoney - regular in a Barrow side relegated out of the EFL.

No reliable journalists reporting the Mills story/rumour. If it's so close you would think one of them would have it.

Just a positive angle / thought for those who haven't yet thrown their toys out the pram!
Yep and only the odd mention on PNEs forum.
