So being happy and contented playing for your club means nothing where money is concerned and a possible transfer fee and a wage increase? What would you do ?

Yes league one is a real step down from the championship, but we had a squad of players who were not good enough for the championship, so there's no reason to think they will automatically excel in league one.

People seem to forget how often we were completely outplayed whilst in the championship, seeing very little of the ball, and creating very little in games, because our players were well off the level they were playing at, and those same players won't suddenly be world beaters in league one, we will need to bring in 5-6 quality players to improve our match day squad, otherwise people are gonna be in for a nasty surprise.

Thank goodness for this. We were an absolutely rubbish Championship team. We made various League 2 teams look relatively decent. We won’t struggle. But the top League 1 teams would comfortably beat Championship strugglers.

Luton, who put up a much better battle than us, finished mid table.

Our fans are showing the same attitude our esteemed leadership are.

Jamie Cumming - We called him one of the best keepers in L1, and he made brilliant saves to take us to the playoff final. He then did ok in the Championship

Jack Currie - Excelled at lower levels and was one of our best performers of the season, according to the player ratings on here, in the Championship

Ciaron Brown - Has been Oxford’s POTY at L1 level, often playing out of position in a poor side

Brodie Spencer - An international player who was snapped up by a Championship side the last time he was at this level

Sam Long - Only recently people were waxing lyrical about him on here, saying he never lets us down and has seen off every right back he’s faced

Greg Leigh - Looked decent at L1 level and scored a good amount of goals

Jamie McDonnell - Excelled at a lower level than the Championship, that’s why we bought him

Cameron Brannagan - We called him one of the best midfielders in L1

Tyler Goodrham - Last time he was in L1 he played so well he was getting interest from big clubs

Stan Mills - Our POTS in the Championship

Mark Harris - He was very nearly that mythical 20 goal a season man last time he was in League One

Move obviously at his age
I’d want to play at the highest possible level. As I keep saying Mills could be one tackle away from ending his career.
If he was older like Cieron Brown (who may be happy and content here) and , a team from the Championship come in for him, he could renegotiate a new contract with us ,he would be happy and the club would be happy.This happened with Cam Brannagan
But Mills is at the start of his career and will want to get to the top ,we are a stepping stone and shouldn’t stand in his way if the figure in his contract is met.Dont forget we sign players like Stan so that he can do a job for us , other clubs see we have an outstanding player and sell him at a decent profit. That is the way we work and most other clubs work to stay afloat

Luton finished 7th 1 point off the play offs.
Plymouth finished 8th 2 points off the playoffs.

Cardiff finished 2nd automatically promoted.
 
I don’t think you can prove a point by making up the result of a match that never happened, we never played Cardiff so saying they definitely would have beaten us is utterly meaningless, as said we drew to the team that won the championship and beat the team who came second but apparently it’s nailed on a league one team would have beaten us.

It’s almost as if he makes it up as he goes along.

In fact I think we only lost one game to the promoted sides - quite narrowly at Ipswich

Also a fair number of those Cardiff players were in the side the season before when we beat them at home and drew away.

Yeah but beating Cardiff in a fictional match taking place in Kips head is a whole different matter, the toughest venue on earth for OUFC.

It’s an opinion like lots of things on this forum.

Mark Harris could score 20 this season or he might replicate his form from last season and Wales.

Our squad could do a Cardiff. A Luton. A Rotherham.

Dusan could turn out to be the man who transforms our fortunes, or he could be an Asian football agent parachuted in to further that mission.

Aaron Ramsey could be the next Tuchel, or he could be the next David Kemp.

We literally have no idea, you can base it on evidence and track record, but it’s largely opinion.
