Surely obvious to everyone that we’re getting pumped today, unless we can put in the sort of performance we did against Blackburn or Luton.

Unless Tyler can get back to top form, and unless Ruben can take centre stage again, and unless El Miz can shake off a dodgy performance against Derby, and unless our front five can start to match the output of our back five.

Unless.

Unless….

It’s the hope that kills you!

Leaving now. I have a spare ticket as my mate is sick. It's an u22. Donation anyone, don't want to waste it. Thanks.

Well, we're off to a good start. Coach driver left the breeze block and started driving to Reading. Turned round, went to Redbridge, picked up, then drove back to the breeze block to drop 4 people off 🤷.

Now on the way to Kidlington. Possibly.

Omens aren't good 🙄

Try and keep it below seven, lads.

That day is still etched in my mind. Couple of minutes in and they score the opener with dear old Phil Whelan doing his best pointing and looking expression. Few minutes later a free kick. My dad says "there's a hell of a gap on that side of the wall". Didn't matter in the end as the ball went underneath it for 2-0. Looked at him and we both said "we're going to get a hiding today".

And so it turned out. Don Hutchinson striding the match like a modern-day Pele...still one of the best individual performances I've seen against an OUFC team. When the sixth went in, we had a little boogie to "I Feel Good" and got a round of applause from the home fans. Ditto when we kept the Mexican Wave going (which was also on the local news..."even the Oxford fans with gallows humour joined in with the celebrations". You have to laugh.

After the game we got ambushed by a group of four Sunderland fans and dragged into a pub for a beer. They were very insistent.

Anyway, away win today, obviously! :p

Car full just left Northampton, not expecting much in the way of points, but I do want a better performance

Gulp. Not feeling confident at all about this one.
Here’s hoping.
Need a bit of what Argyle managed against them.
Head 3-0
Heart 1-2

Respect to all travelling, not this time for the Loungers, wimps that we are!
Will have to fire up the insta-travel machine and pop over to the Netherlands later. (That's a VPN to the uninitiated)
Would love to see the boys get that first away win but just can't quite believe it will happen today. Sunderland have been good at home and are top for obvious reasons. We, on the other hand, have injury worries along with some inconsistent performances. If Vaulks can avoid any misplaced passes and sticks to his task, good. We need 90 minutes of solid defense and some inspirational forward play.
COYY'S

Im feeling confident that not only are the mighty U's going to put in a decent performance this afternoon, that also, given the mackems thinking all they have to do is turn up, that we're going to go and nick all 3 points , with a late, late winner 1-2 TG and Gregly
That's some potent wheatybangs for breakfast in action there!

Fingers crossed you're on the money @Sarge :D

Some of you need to stop being so bloody defeatist.

It's Sunderland, not prime Real Madrid or 1970s Brazil. They're beatable and we're going there on merit. We may be outsiders, but we're not no hopers. No prediction from me, but glad it's Des giving the team talk rather than some of you lot on here.

Odds for a Sunderland win seem to be at 4/7 or 8/15 depending on the bookie this morning. Approx 50% return on your stake. Sorry - I’m not gonna sound like much of a supporter today - but I think there’s value in that. I can’t see anything but than an Oxford loss.
