My reasons for the 11 are as follows: Vaulks is a liability and really limits what we're able to do with the ball in midfield / Ruben has been miles off of it for a few weeks now / Dale showed last night he's not up to the level required. Ter-Avest has played at RM/RWB, so for me, given our dwindling options out wide, this would be a good game to introduce him. Would like to see what Kioso and Ter-Avest could do down that right hand side!

Unforunately, with the amount of injuries we currently have, I cant see us getting anything out of this one. I'd snap your hand off for a draw, right now!

Theyre riding high atm ( joint top with Luton away to play tonight), Ive a feeling that they'll go into the game thinking they only have to turn up to win. Which could prove to be their undoing
A couple of late goals to nick all 3 points I fancy , 1-2 , Gregly and Sparky

Said this in the tickets thread, but Sunderland are basically a pair of experienced CBs and then a bunch of uber-talented kids.
The average age of their midfield trio on Sunday was 19! And both of their full backs and one of their wingers were 22 or younger as well.

I fully acknowledge that I'm old school, but my instinctive response to that is to play our angriest, most aggressive XI against them, get into them (**** the ball) from the first minute, kick them into the air a lot and hope they don't fancy it.

The way they've been playing, the talent these youngsters have supposedly got, and the number of injuries we're dealing with......I'm not sure we're getting anything out of this one if we try and out-football them.

Assuming that Josh is good to start, but that Dembele and Edwards are not, I might go something like:

Cumming
Kioso Moore Nelson Brown
Vaulks McEachran
Sibley
Goodrham Scarlett Harris

Whoever plays left side Saturday.
Will need to be up for it, Hume loves a battle, and works the right flank harder than most

Away win 3-1, good old fashioned 4-4-2 formation.

Luton have completely dominated Sunderland in tonight’s game at Kenilworth Rd,

It’s goalless at the break but Carlton Morris has had a perfectly good goal disallowed on the stroke of HT.

The average age of Sunderland’s players’ is 23 - the youngest in the Champ.

Sunderland 1 up, good girl to be fair.

Won’t happen, but I wouldn’t be against 3 at the back here.

Given our lack of fit wingers and our best 3 players this season have been the centre halves. Would also allow Tyler to play Centrally and even play Harris & Scarlett or even the lesser spotted Goodwin.

Would love to see this

They may be young but they’ve certainly bought into the “gamesmanship” element that Sunderland are employing.
