A lot of Oxfords travelling support were thrown out for basically nothing at that game ( swearing being one chucking out offence) ... I asked a copper what was and wasn't acceptable if, say , I disagreed with a refereeing decision, I was told' you'll be alright if you call him a rascal, anything else will get you escorted out
Yeah I remember that, also remember it happening at West Ham (86 I think) and Orient when we won the league, a lot of fussy marshaling of away fans in London games.

Well apart from the taking the lead part, we went 2-0 down before pulling 1 back, then had a right go at them before Gascoigne scored twice more. We actually played pretty well that day for long periods. Les Phillips was indeed awesome.
Didn't Foyle get 2 for us and Lineker score a couple for them?

Is there not some stupid rule that X amount of players from the previous league game have to start?

Or just bung on the kids, risk the fine then qualify by a series of freak results. :)

Attendance - sub 1k.

So I believe the rule is that we have to play four qualifying players out of our outfield ten, and below is what makes someone a 'qualifying player'

- A player who had started the immediately preceding first-team fixture.
- A player who subsequently starts the immediately following first-team fixture.
- A player is in the list of ten players at the club with the highest number of starting appearances in first-team fixtures in the same season
- A player who has made forty or more starting appearances in first-team fixtures or international equivalents (and not limited to the same club or season).
- A player is on standard loan from a Premier League club or any EFL club operating a category one academy.

So if we - for example - played Mous, Williams, Forde and Hanson, that would be enough to not get fined.

But personally, I'd say that this was a good opportunity for a number of players to get a run-out.
I wouldn't play anyone (except Eastwood) that was in the side on Saturday. But would play all the other senior pros that are fit, and then fill in any gaps with kids.

One of the sad things about the Coventry final was seeing Oxford fans falling out about whether they should go or not. Fans should never feel conflicted about going to watch their team, especially in a final at Wembley, yet that is one of the outcomes of the change in format.
The saddest thing was that we played complete gash, in contrast to the year before...

Not that I know for certain ... it is the EFL who call the shots... but, wasn't it changed this seasons competition allowing anyone selected for the previous/ or previous few matchday squads, whether they played or not, were eligible to play in PJT games ? ... there again I may have imagined that!
It changes every bloody season to suit the EFL and the premiership b teams
