Time for heroes.

Sunderland won't want it up them, the last thing they want is a hostile atmosphere and a game played at pace whilst they try and avoid injury.

So let's give them just that. Let's make the atmosphere the best it's been, it's been getting better game on game recently - time to take the atmosphere to a new level today.

We have absolutely everything to play for while they already have their play-off spot and will hopefully want to conserve themselves for those much bigger games.
Let’s go for the win and put this season to bed nice and early.

In my opinion we have to play to our strengths. If I was Rowett I’d play 3 at the back today. We know our greatest chance at scoring is set pieces so bringing Moore back in can only be a good thing.

Helik Moore Nelson

Ter Avest Vaulkes Matos Brannagan Leigh

Goodrahm

Bradshaw

I’d tell Matos to burst forward whenever possible to support Tyler and, in turn, Tyler to get in and around Bradshaw to support and get shots off.

Bradshaw isn’t ideal but he has the experience at this level. Romeny isn’t ready and Harris seems mentally exhausted and needs a rest. He might still have something to offer off the bench if needed.

We also then have the pace of Shemmy and Mills to call on, towards the end of the game.

This. Exactly the team I would play.

I was thinking the same thing. I'm not that big a fan of 5 at the back in general, but with Dembele out, and a surfeit of central defenders, it probably does play to our strengths right now.
Plus we need the calming influence of our skipper back in the side, but neither Helik or Nelson deserve to be dropped at the expense of an ‘attacking’ player who isn’t performing

If we're doing that, then I'd play Kioso instead of ter Avest in a five. He's never usually awful two games in a row.

I think that today we have to get all our best players on the pitch. For me, Ter Avest edges it over Kioso. A lot depends on how he’s recovered from the concussion though. If there’s any doubt then, yep, Kioso.

Harris up top for me

And behave - not that we should need to be reminded
I take issue with the EFL protocols on medical emergencies. To quote the story from OUFC; As per EFL guidelines, games should continue, unless the welfare of the supporter in question is specifically affected by the continuation of the match. Who makes that decision and, when? Who is qualified to make a medically based intervention? As a retired ambulance service employee, I witnessed more than a few incidents that could have been serious, not all were. However, they were all treated with the same level of care and attention.
It is to be applauded that fans want to make it known that there may be something amiss. Showing concern for a fellow human being is normal, is it not? What harm can it be to pause play for a moment to ascertain the nature and severity of the incident? The last 'incident' apparently, turned out to be a lad who had drunk too much, I'll bet few thought that had he collapsed and swallowed his own vomit (or his tongue) he may have had a far more serious prospect in store. Deal with the issue, allow fans to return to their seats and re-start play. Do a few minutes really matter so much?

If we win today and are safe can we start marselino against Swansea? His story arc has been enjoyably bonkers but dropped off once we started wobbling.

Hopefully the Manager will pick players for Swansea based on their ability, rather than sentiment.

It’ll be a nice selection headache to have if we get the result today!

If safe I would like to see him get a game and know for myself if he is a budding superstar...

My interpretation is that it's better to inform stewards and medical staff than the players or the referee. The first incident against Portsmouth was evidently serious and the referee rightly stopped the game and took the players off the pitch. The second was manageable in the stands without a need to stop the game. Had the situation changed then I've no doubt that the message would have got through to the referee to stop the game.

I would be more than a little frustrated if a fan runs onto the pitch to stop the game whilst we're in a goal scoring position, because someone can't handle their beer.
