How many stone wall penalties have we not been given? How may decent shouts have we even had? Its not a shock we haven't been given a penalty because we don't get the ball in the box a lot, can't get one without that happening.

I have enjoyed this season and I think we have done ok, but, you have to accept that we are not actually very good (at this level) that's why we are down the bottom in a relegation battle, our attack is one of the weakest in the division.

Its not a big club favouring conspiracy, you don't get penalties on a pro rata basis just for turning up, the opposition has to commit an offence worthy of one in the box, they just haven't needed to or even had the opportunity to this season.

You don’t think the hand ball in front of
the Leppings Lane End at Weds was a penalty? Nor Mark Harris being pulled down at Stoke?

I agree that we probably don’t trouble the oppositions box enough, but to suggest that hasn’t happened at all this season is inaccurate.

Didn't see Sheff Weds away and was too nervous to follow it in any form so cleaned two cars and pressure washed my patio instead until the last 5 minutes. You have jogged my mind about the Stoke one though. Perhaps its better to say you need to hit a certain amount of incidents before you get one, never getting every shout and we haven't got near enough to that number.

We have definitely had a few solid penalty shouts this season, but of course - if you’re not threatening the oppositions box regularly, you’re not getting a penalty. (Again, Cardiff’s 22 touches in our box compared with us getting 3 touches in theirs is a perfect example.)

We have the worst attack in the division. We lost our strongest (by far) attacking player last summer, and our attempts to replace him have failed. (Placheta, Dembele, Phillips). Not to say they’ve been a failure generally because I don’t believe so, but they have absolutely not had anywhere close to the impact we had been expecting upon signing them. We’ve come into the Championship with arguably a poorer attacking force than we had finishing 5th in League One.

I’ve been critical at points of Rowett, but overall I do think he’s done a good job. Looking at our attacking options, I do believe that it will be a HUGE achievement if he keeps us up, and kudos to him if that happens.

Oxford 1 - 1 Sunderland

I'm pretty sure we had one turned down Fence End on Shemmy that was a dead-cert spot kick as well, although can't remember the opposition.

Cumming
Long Helik Nelson Bennett
Matos Vaulks
Mills Goodrham Placheta
Romeny
Give Brannagan a rest before the potentially vital last game of the season (but still bring him on). Keep Goodrham central where he can be more effective. Make Sam Long captain and tell him to smash his winger…

After the Sunderland game on Saturday, off to the theatre to see josh widdicombe comedian, big argyle fan, could be an interesting gig if they get relegated on Saturday and we survive

Saturday could be a really difficult watch, at times you'll be wondering why you actually choose to do this.

And before that you've got the Oxford game.

Okay. Got this feeling that we are going to roar them home on Saturday.
We are loud and proud and we are gonna get right behind them.
We can do this, a point is likely all that we need.
Sunderland are decent but we are a rock at home this season.
This is what football is all about.
Moments like this - players, fans. This is our moment. It’s gonna be epic.

Time for experimenting and resting players is over for Sunderland, they’ve said as much. So we’ll be playing a side that was a big part of the automatic promotion race for 40 games.

What matters more to them though than the result is getting back in form, getting partnerships working again etc. This is like that last pre-season game for them (doubt they’ll go full strength last game so close to the playoffs).

I hope we go 5 at the back, 3 in midfield and give Roberts, Le Fee, Mayenda etc as little space and time as possible. As aggressive as we can be without getting anyone sent off. I think if we do that, any urgency on their side will slip away quite quickly and they’ll be happy to dominate the ball without over committing themselves.

Plymouth did a brilliant job of this against Coventry and had the perfect players on the break in Bundu and Hardie to take advantage. I’m sure we’ll target players like those in the summer if we stay up, but stopping Sunderland and targeting set pieces is probably our best hope on Saturday.

That was such a memorable game that I think I don't think I'd swap them out for future Championship penalties. I've rarely seen so many fans laughing as when the fourth penalty was given.
Still worth watching those 4 penalties

I've just watched the new Youtube of Cam running through his top 5 goals and was surprised the fourth penalty wasn't in there. I mean, it's doubtful he actually chose them himself (maybe the order of them) but you'd think that one would have been up there.

We absolutely did. I think it was in the first half against Portsmouth (although also not 100% sure of the opposition) but he jinked between two players over on our right hand side and was blatantly tripped after entering the box. This was nearer the end of the half when it was 0-0, and could have given the game a completely different complexion.

We were also denied a stone wall penalty in the first half away at Boro on Harris, when the ball was lobbed back into the box from an initial free kick and he got a toe to the ball before a defender completely wiped him out. I think this is when we were 1-0 up.

Whilst our attacking from open play has generally been quite blunt, this has been exacerbated by awful refereeing decisions in quite a few of the moments when we do break through the lines and in crucial moments of games that we have ended up losing.

It’s not even funny tho because some of our penalty claims have been blatant when you see some of the penalties given to other teams this season

It’s like the refs don’t think we are deserving enough to be giving us penalties
Need our old player Peter Foley to give some tips on how to fall and get penalties as he was a expert in 70/80s to our current squad?.

I think it was the first half of the 3-2 Luton game.

I think it was Luton too - definitely around that time. Shemmy burst between two defenders and got hacked down in the box; the Michael Appleton-wannabe dude was reffing, was in perfect position and for some reason didn't give it.

It is galling when that happens, and then you see Swansea get a penalty the other day for one that was very clearly drilled off Jon Egan's face!

It sold out about a week ago.

At the moment there is ONE exchange ticket showing, and like the Leeds game the exchange tickets have pretty much sold as soon as they've become available over the last few days.
Thank you

Just read the Sunderland forum and whether its true or not someone on there is bragging about a family of five Sunderland supporters who have tickets in the home end. However, it should be easy to spot them as there will be five very large red and white deckchairs in amongst a yellow backdrop!

However, it still pisses me off that the cheeky buzzards have potentially snucked 5 tickets that should have gone to 5 Oxford supporters for what is a vv important game.

W*nkers.

On their forum is a little pipsqueak called Sw*ndon on tour and he has got to be the geezer at school who would grass on grass.

He suckers up to the mackems because he's not got a proper football club to support...but he did say to another mackem punter that if you bought some cuprinol and a brush you could probably get to see the game for free by giving the fence a lick. This to me is unbelievable humour from what seems a up and coming young lad who is soon to leave school in July and start to learn a fabulous craft in getting his pip paperwork in order.

He's been on there for years, and is an annoying prick, even for a Swindon fan.

He thinks he's being really funny when he calls us the "piss stains"

He also reckons he's got mates who are Oxford fans, so if anyone on here knows him, tell him from me he's a c*nt.

I browsed their forum back when we were in league one together, can’t believe he is still on a different clubs forum, two teams who haven’t been on the same league for a very long time begging for friends, it’s very sad.
