He was fine, good presence about him as well.
Got most of the decisions right, and the cards were fair enough though I would have booked their guy early for the tackle on Dembele.
Penalty shouts both soft ones, contact searched for blatantly. Fine with not having that whistled for.
Assistants were a bit random, mind. A couple of very odd calls on corners.
The chance for Romeny looked out to me, but you can't give it as an assistant if you can't see it's out because the legs are blocking it, which I suspect strongly was the case here.

All in all, not bad.

EDIT: Just seen he's senior refereeing officer at the FA CORE system, an interesting position.

I thought he was pretty good. it was the game that was poor.

How you can call him a homer when he turned down two "seen em given" penalties to Stoke and let play go on when Romeny apparently kept the ball in - most refs would have given the keeper the benefit of the doubt there

I’ve given him an 8. Didn’t give a yellow for the off the ball blatant trip on Dembele first half, and I thought Kioso fouled the player in the box for a pen. Otherwise got it mostly right I think

Whereas I thought he should have booked their player for a dive. Minimal contact but defo no pen

Another development game at this level for this referee, who primarily operates at league 1 and 2.

Very good referee.

Thought he did a pretty decent job. Let play carry on when he could. Got the penalty shouts right, although the Kioso one could be described as “seen ‘em given”.
Certainly an upgrade on the ref for the Luton game.

I think he was very good referee, especially with this situation. It was live ball, where GK intended to let the ball out, but Romeny pinched in the ball with minimum contact to GK, Romeny did a "little push" but that was because GK tried block his way to get the ball with his body. No foul here thought the GK fall but the referee could see it was no harsh contact, minimum contact and the ball still live, very good decision.

Didn’t think he was too bad.
Think their player would’ve been booked for the tackle very early just outside the box, but brandishing a yellow that early may have set an unnecessary tone. Not sure how people thought it was a pen, never in a million years. Fairly consistent for both teams. 8.

A solid 7 from me, got the big calls right. Consistent, controlled and was barely noticeable which is always the sign of a good ref.
