League Cup 24/25 Carabao Cup R2 Draw

This draw is dependent on how serious each team take it and squad strength, if Coventry decide to make 8 changes to their first choice 11 like we did with Peterborough, then I think our first 11 would cruise it, but I hope we stick to squad rotation and give our all our squad a run out and give then much needed first team minutes.

I can 100% guarantee that we will stick to our squad rotation. Des basically said in his pre-Peterborough interview that winning was key because it gave them an extra game to get more minutes in the legs of the guys who aren't currently getting a game in the league.

The team will be a couple of stalwarts, plus all our first team squad members that don't play against Blackburn on the previous Saturday.

So it will be interesting to have a First XI vs. First XI game, and then a 'B' team vs. 'B' team game ten days later.

That's about the only interesting thing about a draw that is otherwise pretty much the worst one we could have gotten!

(also worth noting that Coventry's 'B' team that beat Bristol City on Tuesday night included two guys (Thomas-Asante and Haji Wright) that scored double figures in the Championship last season and Kasey Palmer, who completely tore us a new one in the Cup. Their forward depth is frankly a little absurd.......)

Any news on tickets for this? The official website still shows kick off time as TBC and no link to buy tickets.

I just hope it's 7.45pm kickoff rather than 8pm. Then should be able to get the train from Coventry Arena after the game.

Confirmed as Tuesday 27th August, 7.45pm.

No ticket details yet, I imagine it will be £15, don't think those robbing bastards will drop as low as a tenner!

We managed to get to the station (via a taxi) by half 10 on Friday, so anyone travelling back to Oxford by train should be okay given you'll have an extra 15 minutes. The train from the arena is 21.50 but I could imagine it might be difficult / impossible to get on that given it will only be two carriages and the away fans are only allowed to head in the opposite direction after the game.

But there could be penalties.
