Away Match Day Thread 24/01/2026 - MDT: Leicester City v Oxford United

That’s the 2nd top class assist from him there was his assist for Shemmys goal against Ipswich
The Bristol City away assist was a doozy too. Big fan of BDK but the pass itself is expect most midfielders at this level to make, the bit he won't get as much credit for was the pace and aggression he showed to get to the loose ball ahead of the Leicester before cushioning a header back to MPH. Fantastic player who's struggled for form recently but a real asset who also gets about the pitch more than he's given credit for.

Magnificent result, absolutely brilliant, some effort from the players.

Good to see you not over-praising there, boy ;)

Delighted for MB and everyone on the coaching side too, gives the fans and everyone at the club a huge lift just when we needed it. A really big confidence boost all round. Superb, COYY.

He scored the winning goal in a great result but I’m with @Leysboy on this one. Maris is still sh*t. Maybe the goal might get us a few more thousands on his transfer fee this window.

He is going nowhere this window unless we sign a player like Hardie.

Generally, after winning a monumental game like today, first thoughts shouldn't be about which players are s**t (especially when said player had a great game and scored).

It's just a bizarre comment to make in an ecstatic room.

Well that was fun. What a great away end to be a part of.

Everything was absolutely spot on today. The players were absolutely magnificent and Bloomfield really had his game plan nailed down. The press was magnificent, and it was really smart against a team with two cloggers at the back and without much guile in midfield.

The new signings have already raised our level. Peart-Harris oozes class whilst also being really tactically reliable and an absolute aerial force, whilst McDonnell was absolutely everywhere disrupting things with his energy.

If you didn't believe we could save ourselves before today, I hope you do now.

People still talking trash about Harris and BDK is bizarre and immature tbh.

We take the p**s about other clubs doing the #TeamsLikeOxford crap. Yet we've got plenty of our own "fans" who constantly talk our club and our players down. The same ones who had already given up on this season and are quick to coat new players off before they've even seen them play.

Absolute embarrassment.

The new lads - and I include Spencer - have added a lot of strength , running power, and pace into the team. We looked a different side today and really deserved that result. Sam Long brilliant - again.

Energy, verve, and a lot of dog.

Harris was running around like a clockwork toy for most of the game. He was barely in possession of the ball at all. But he did his job, it was rather like Bolton at Wembley again. Their rather lackdadaisal Okoli got the ball all the time and did nada with it.

And then that goal. What a finish. He looked like he was going to score from the moment he was put in. Well done Sparky.

Support was really something today.

Leicester - a team on the skids. I spoke to a few Reynards after and they are shitting bricks re a points deduction. They must be candidates for the drop.

Great day for us. There is hope.

He, by his own admission, is eating humble pie.

The fact that he was very quick to dismiss M.Bloomfield's team choice, before any ball was kicked, shows total lack of support and confirms his unnecessary pessimistic approach.
Mr Kip is always happy to admit he was wrong in retrospect. However he's never happy to admit that he was wrong to be so negative in the first place.

Like I’ve said I’m not his biggest fan but why make such a negative comment after a really positive result and performance?

No need and I think the majority on here would agree with me for calling it out.

What a stunning, professional job we've done there. Not seen anything like it since the Des days. Truly incredible.

Whether or not it actually means anything will depend on if we can replicate it over the next 2/3 games. I still think we're too late, but that was absolutely fantastic to watch.
Not at all Blackburn are in free fall Charlton will drop and Portsmouth ain’t investing all to play for imo
