Away Match Day Thread 24/01/2026 - MDT: Leicester City v Oxford United

Absolutely fantastic performance to a man.
If only we had actually had a go at some of the teams and showed some attacking intent at away games earlier on the season . So many times instead of sitting back and letting them grow into the games. Whatever happens here on in , 100% the correct decision to change Rowett.

If Greg Leigh’s off, can’t believe Leicester are playing Ben Nelson on the left.
When they have Luke Thomas.

Kept Stan quiet 2nd half, one we should have been looking at years ago. Hopefully available

That has really closed the gap shame most of the teams directly above us picked up a point too. Was worried we were becoming detached there. COYY

BDK was excellent when he came on when it would be so easy to be a diva about being dropped. Can’t understand anybody critical of him because without him I think we’d be down already. He carried us in a number of games and can well-afford a dip in form for the shift he’s put in. He was absolutely brilliant today and the assist is not as easy as it looks.

Luckily we have the spirit of Alex Dyer 93 to get us a win today so the team we put out doesn’t matter.

Alex Dyer was looking down on us to help us over the line out there.

He’s not dead but maybe he was on a plane or something.

Wow awesome result!! Just been watching lewes against St Albans to think we played them both in the dark days… COYY

Yeah but two points gained on Blacburn and hopefully Portsmouth lose tomorrow. Any gain is better than nothing.
Three gained on Charlton too. They've got nine points from their last 14 games with the only wins against us in Rowett's swansong and at home to a team with nine men. Scored 11 and conceded 27 in that time too.

They might be five points clear right now but they're absolutely bang in trouble too. Shame we didn't make a move before we did as we could have had a draw at minimum there but that's not an insurmountable gap by any stretch.

I’ll wait to see the formation and the performance before commenting but definitely some surprises in there
My comments:

Really bloody good that, why we stopped aggressively pressing under Des and never really started again under Rowett ill never know

Hopefully it’s here to stay, top performance and thought the fans were really good

I'm all in for Bloomfield. That was a proper performance.

Delighted for Harris.

Hope Spencer, Currie, MPH, McDonnell and Mills can keep that pace up, they were immense.

Brodie Spencer, if coached well, will be a huge investment for us. So much promise.

The set up was spot on/taking players off on yellows tick and having at least a few more quality players on the pitch in McDonnell and Peart-Harris really helps a lot. If MB and team can analyse the players strengths and oppo weaknesses like this things will start looking up.

Superb result,few other positives

One free week til Birmingham
One less week til prelec tired donley return
Shemmy back on the grass end of last week

Oh and the scum lost 😂

Love it

Scum losing is icing on the cake. They were 1-0 up at HT and going top only for that tinpot Bromley to turn them over second half and sending the scum down to 6th at end of play.
