Taking my brother in law, nephew and Dad tomorrow (today now!), scattered around the north stand. Hoping for a good performance, and fingers crossed we can catch them cold and pick up a point or 3.

Pumped for this. Just been reading the two boro forums. Seem a decent enough bunch and respectful. Clearly favourites to win 1-4 but hopefully we can surprise them . I think weather, the international break and returning injured helps. They’ll probably not realise how critical to our team , tactics and performance our injuries have been and see a team out of form,

Plenty with cancelled tickets for the home end.

A few references to Morse and students as ever.

And some memory lane to that 4-1 when gazza merson and ince pulled on Oxford shirts

My "local" club growing up and still up there regularly. Yes, a decent bunch of fans and good fanbase overall.
Difficult to see beyond a 1-0 or 2-0 loss, but we'll give it a good go as always.
COYY!

Edit: Just seen their keeper is out in addition to several key injuries. Given the weather I'd be shooting from distance today.

Arrived in the Shire last night after negotiating countless roadworks all the way from Norfolk. Now wishing I’d borrowed some clothing from one of our local fishermen - Cam off the bench to grab a late equaliser from the spot.

Let’s not overstate this. They’re 7th. They’re 7 points ahead of us. It’s not exactly an fa cup style chasm.

If we hadn’t had the injury crisis my guess is we’d be 4-5 points closer

Yes, but they also have ten points from their last five games. We have less than half that (4) over the same period… and in a that time they scored 13 goals - we scored 3!

Hard to argue that they aren’t in quite considerably better form than us at the moment.

No more international breaks until March, players returning, time to kick on starting today! (Hopefully).

Hopefully all the noisy buggers who were at Watford will be there and singing regardless of what stand they're in? Take the disapproving looks from those in the south stand as a badge of honour!

Returnees on the bench will be crucial today.

Oxford United 1 - Middlesbrough 0.

COYY!!

See you later.

Heads up:

We are trailing a Match Centre (in the top post) and a player rating for MOTM (which will be posted AFTER the FT whistle).

The Wicked effect!

Call me an old softie or whatever, but it always breaks my heart when I see carloads of young kids (and their already frazzled parents) who've had a great birthday party at the cinema or bowling or whatever and then have to sit in the car park for an hour or more to go home for their birthday tea.
Or Indeed those that arrived not having left an hour to find a square -inch of hedge to squeeze their car into in the far corner of a muddy overflow field.
Symptomatic of how the complex is run, but I've always felt ozone visitors need to be better catered for in this respect than they are - we are not the only venue on that site.

Surely a food van that does something other that hot dogs, bacon rolls and burgers could be booked for the Kassam on a matchday?

Last year Aldi were selling Christmas dinner in a pie!! Bloody marvellous they were too! Sadly, all the offers this year are very poor - chicken instead of turkey and not much else inside.

Just the one chap who questioned if we really needed a new ground when ours isn’t too old and have we considered building a fourth stand instead, or allowing big clubs like Middlesbrough to bring more fans because the extra money would be a lot for a club like us…

Yeah, after all Mr KassaM has always had customer experience as his absolute priority :)

Boro are good but beatable. 1-1.

Nothing about the way the area around the stadium has been designed is helpful when dealing with the huge numbers of cars and people.

Always an absolute clusterfuck to get in and out. Cars pulling up on yellows to pick up or drop off, clogging everything up even more. Stupid access, meaning pedestrians and cars getting in the way of each other at busy crossings.

Poorly lit, muddy/puddly carparks full of craters. Loss of parking spaces through a complete lack of hedge management.

Next to useless personnel dealing with traffic management. I have seen traffic cones with a higher IQ.

The day we see the back of that place and we can train it in with a small leisurely walk to the ground, enjoying a few extra beers along the way, can't come soon enough.

Whine over...

2-1 Oxford :)
