At last the international breaks are out of the way. Back to the nitty gritty of a league season and a hard fought point against Middlesbrough to show how we've improved on last season.

IMAGES FROM THE PAST

Adrian Viveash - currently caretaker Head Coach at Middlesbrough - playing for the U’s in 2002 at the Valley.

Viveash played in the middle of a back three under Ian Atkins.

Some of the shiniest shorts you’ll ever see 😎
I still have my home shirt from that season, it is so bright you can see it from space.

Would be satisfied with a point today, although hoping for all three as always.

Prediction: 1-1, Lankahear to put us ahead late in the first half only for Boro to reply after 55 mins.

Would love not to lose ,but we look very vulnerable at the minute ,the midfield is our downfall generally most weeks when we are tiring we just don't have the subs to make us stronger big job for January. Hopefully 1-1

We will need to be bang on our game to get anything today.

Be strong, energetic and get amongst them to have any chance of being effective with the few chances that we may create.

2-1.

COYY's - Good to be back :)

Davies - Helik - Brown
Ter Avest - BDK - Brannagan - Currie
Romeny - Krastev

Rowett says Spencer is the only absentee, so this would be my team.

Romeny is a risk but seeing as none of the forwards have made themselves irreplaceable and we face a bit of a disrupted Boro defence, I’d throw him in.

Above all, I want us to be first to everything today. Proper fight, proper energy and desire and make this game bloody difficult for them.

I'd like to see something like this today. Romeny slightly more advanced than this though, linking the midfield with two physical strikers.

3 centre halves and wing backs gives us more solidity and puts us back to being hard to beat.

Plenty on the bench to be able to make formation/tactical tweaks and changes.

Bold - I quite like it but fear that we would be overrun in midfield as we were at Watford without a CDM.
Can’t keep playing to not lose, we need to start winning some games and getting some points, and the only way to do that is by getting on the front foot and having a go…

Amazing what can happen when you change managers

Charlton 0 - 4 Southampton

Edit: 5 now

Don’t understand all the noise about changing the manager. GR was dealt a crap hand at the beginning of the season and is trying to stabilise things:

Oxford United 1 - Middlesbrough 1.

Pissing down now. Miserable weather. Wicked (cinema) must be doing good business, lots of families clutching sweets, popcorn etc in the car park, only problem being spaces! We circled for 10 minutes and got in fine.
