Away Match Day Thread +++ 22/01/2019 Bury v OUFC Checkatrade Trophy +++

From those highlights our players either looked out on their feet or disinterested. The bury players were making runs and the Oxford players seemed like they were in quicksand.

Firstly, it's a bit ridiculous to outright dismiss Bury's players as 'League Two'.
When we were winning promotion from League Two, we had Kemar Roofe, John Lundstram, Calum O'Dowda, George Baldock, Jake Wright, Chey Dunkley, Chris Maguire and a bunch of other players who are playing above us in the league pyramid right now and would probably walk into our current team.
If we'd been able to keep that team together, we'd probably be in the Championship by now! It's possible that the same is true of this year's Bury.....

Secondly, to people bemoaning our lack of consistency - yes, it's frustrating. It's what has stopped us from competing in the top half of the table this season. But we actually don't have to be consistent to avoid relegation. Alternating great and awful performances for the next two months will see us comfortably safe. We just need to make sure there's at least as many Portsmouth showings as there are Bury from this point on. An away league win somewhere would be nice as well.......

We were a team of mistakes last night.
Goals 3,4 and 5 from Bury, were top drawer.
Bury are a good side, currently 6 places below us.
That was the ninth home game, this season, that they have scored more than 4 goals !
Move on to Barnsley, hoping they belt Rochdale and we can get something from our game.

Interesting stat coming out of the brewers game tonight.

Team who have scored most goals in all comps this season ?

Man City with 103

2nd in list Bury with 77.
3rd Doncaster with 73

(Ahead of the likes of Spurs Arsenal etc.)

Just sayin...

If ever there was a wake up call that said KR hasn’t got a clue Bury away is it.

OXVOX Committee Notes from late 2017. http://www.oxvox.org.uk/minutes/oxvox-tiger-10nov2017/

The section you refer..........

In summary, at the meeting on the 27th October, DE said that if a sale took place, he would retain a % of the club and that a Thai based businessman (Tiger) would take the majority % and therefore assume overall control of the club. DE stated that he had been in discussions with Tiger for some weeks and that the original introductions had been made by Sean Harvey from the EFL. Ian Lenagan was also aware of the introductions.
