But he is clearly a confidence player, and if he doesn't start to be properly rewarded for his hard work and progress, such as being trusted to start games, then there's a worry he'll shrink back into his shell again.

Continually drip feeding him minutes is doing him no good, he deserves a proper shot at nailing down a starting place.
