I was there in 96. We did play well. Not seen anyone mention Les Robinson's cross for our first goal. It was a pearler!

Records are made to be broken and runs are made to end. :) :)
Indeed. Speaking as a historian, I feel qualified to say that history is irrelevant as an indicator of the future (at least in this case).

Won't stop me banging on about it at length when I do the match preview though

I lived there at the time so was easier to get a ticket in the main stand. I remember there were a few of us cheering when we scored, so it must have been you! Found a video of it although it has a few bad edits

Thanks for the highlights reminder!

I was 15 at the time and me and 3 school mates really wanted to go. We had to go and see our headteacher at lunchtime and fortunately he gave us permission to bunk off early! Mad rush followed getting bus from Eynsham to Oxford to get the supporters coach from Castle St.

Ford's goal much better than I remember 👏
I know Jemson was a complete tool and none of the team got on with him, but what the hell was that goal celebration/finger pointing about??! 😆

A point would be marvellous. This is one of those matches that I have down as an L - we will get a couple before the season is out.

So long as the heads don’t drop. The message from Bloomfield here to the team has to be - perform, work hard, keep your head up, don’t worry about the result today.

It’s an ex prem team in a very rich vein of form, away from home.

Any result is possible though! It’s football! COYY

You forgot "and our record down there is P8 W0 D1 L7".
I really don’t read too much into those sort of things; we are a different team to when we played them last season even, let alone years ago.

Its another Leicester on the books. :)

Brilliant proofreading and attention to detail yet again! From "The Horn" email I've just received:

Rare away game for me, I suspect we’ll get thrashed but any kind of result would be awesome!

Feels like a cup game against a Premiership team. We’re hard to beat now, though, and with a full and noisy away end we’ve got a chance to get something.
I’m sorry but this mentality is exactly why we have other fans saying ‘teams like Oxford’. We are in the same league as them and beat them just a few months ago!
Most clubs in this league have been in the premier league in recent years.

What time are people getting the train down tomorrow from Oxford? Wondering if I will be able to get on the train at Reading or it will be to crowded given it’s a cross country and they are a bit stingy with the carriages.
