The question is, do we sell more than 7500 if there are customers, sorry meant that many fans who want to buy a season ticket e.g. 8500/9000 etc?

I would think not.
The last time in L1, we sold what just under 5,000?? Anything above 6,000 would be very good.
IF we were to get back up it will be a problem again and supporters who buy in L1 will of course be prioritised for a ST if we return to the Championship

Yes - cash in the bank is better than empty seats.

8k ST holders leaves roughly 2k spare seats for "on the event sales"

I don't accept the idea that there should be huge attrition of season ticket holders. I recognise that league one is less attractive, but the club now has a situation it should relish eg there is a large core of season tickets and a job to do to retain them. They have waiting list info too apparently.

They should be aiming to retain a similar number in league one. There may be some churn in who season tickets holders are, but the club has to back itself to do a good job on the retention side.

It is then on the club to actually market and sell for individual matches now there should be greater availability. That's a different sort of challenge, and something they have largely not had to do or neglected to do over the last two years.

With reasonable results, we should be looking to average 9-10k in the first half of the season.

Time for decades of experience to step up.

...which there would likely be far less demand for in League One.

Indeed so, ergo sell as many ST`s as possible.

I don`t think we will get anywhere near 8k ST holders but there shouldn`t be a "cap" on sales.

Customers that will happily stump up a seasons £££££`s without knowing who will be on the pitch etc are a rare breed and every effort from those "decades of experience" folk should go into attracting them to pay up.

It'll be interesting to see the numbers. I know of several people who bought season tickets after our promotion who support PL teams. They wanted to take their kids to see Championship football. I suspect whether or not they renew will come down to how much their kids have enjoyed it. I'd imagine a few will renew and others will pick and choose games to attend.

Was talking to a Millwall fan before the game on Saturday, and he said that they’d already sold out their season tickets for next season!! And this is before they know what league they’re going to be in!!
You'd expect that given that they have a chance to go to the premier league.
As for us, I expect us to maybe drop slightly in ST holders by maybe 500ish.

We averaged over 9,000 when we went up 3 years ago with STs of under 5,000.
So maybe they did step up then and IF we can get close to 7,500 ST holders as you suggest, then 10k would be very achievable if we did well

I wonder how many returns they're likely to get if they blow it in the playoffs?

When does the opportunity to go on the waiting list materialise?

It happened in the last 2 seasons.
The club sold 7,500 maximum so anybody applying after they were sold out were put on a waiting list.
Some seem very optimistic, but I reckon that we wont hit 7,500 this season and so everybody who wants one should be able to get hold of one ( would love to be proved wrong)

I think a few will go on the market but not many and demand will outstrip supply. Next season has the potential to be a classic.

Cheers I hope to get one though tbh I never struggled to get a ticket home or away this season with membership 😉

Wasn’t the fact they they’d sold out, more to the fact that they have sold them already and not knowing what league they’ll be in e.g. if they’re in the Premiership then they might have been to increase the cost etc

All depends how bad the club need the cash injection. Also if they got promoted then adding £100 to a season ticket isn't really going to make much difference when you get around £200m for going up these days. Where as making sure all ST's are sold going into another season in the Championship can make a difference.

We are Oxford fans ,not Man City fans not prawn sandwich fans not who are we watching fans. We are proper fans the championship was just to much at the minute ,could we be a Millwall a QPR a Watford of course we can .Lets build again buy youre tickets support our chairman ,support the the manager ,support the players but more importantly support each other .We could be Barrow or Harrogate think of them if we get that ground built we become a different Beast .3 Tickets incoming

I would be surprised if demand for season tickets and day tickets doesn’t remain robust for next season due to the expectation of a chance for a rapid bounce back.

However, the club need to act quickly and get interest stoked before those who may be sat on the fence settle in to summer and start to dwindle.

However, a poor start to the season and a lack of quality and entertainment on the pitch will have a detrimental impact by Christmas.

Fingers crossed we can create some momentum on and off the pitch (stadium construction) to really keep people interested.

Relying on the die hards who would renew even if the prices doubled and we dropped another level will not cut it.

Fingers crossed for a really buoyant pre season campaign. 🙏🙏

We should have less funky kick off times in league one also. I know two families who between them have 7 season tickets who struggle with non 3pm kick off times due to kids football.
More 3pm kickoffs should mean more bums in season ticket seats and also hopefully more people buying tickets from general release. The club just need to push these and make them affordable.
These will be easier to sell if we are playing well every week!

Last year one of the fan groups (OxVox maybe?) confirmed they had discussed prices etc with the club prior to their release. Has that happened this year? And does anyone have an inkling on when they might open for renewals!? I cant seem to find any comms from last year to confirm dates.

They must be waiting for the dust to settle after the board changes.

i was going to post something about season ticket renewals , but as I can’t be bothered so I won’t
What does it take to post a timescale of when they might be on sale, is it too much to expect a degree of”customer service”?

The last 2 seasons ended on such positive notes, so it was easy to push the renewals/purchases I would imagine - going to require a huge push to get similar numbers this time around, but I think it's doable.
