Yeah, not a very attractive friendly for an 7pm midweek! What an odd choice for a home friendly.
God to prepare for the season with plenty of opportunity to score goals and win games but not sure these will be a huge test.
Barnet are Ok as a top of League 2 side but im hoping we have someone as a bit more of a test.
A prem side or a repeat of the Palermo type opposition?
Yellow paint I hope, not sneaking off and admiring Red paint...I'll be watching a documentary on paint drying that night

I still have awful memories of that 0-3 defeat in the cup when Aldridge played his last game for usI went to a pre-season friendly at Aldershot sometime in the 90s (Mike Ford was playing). Oxford won 4-1.
It’s a double header. Return match in Ipswich at 7:30Why is Ipswich a midday Saturday kick-off?
I guess it makes it almost impossible for away fans to get there on the day on public transport.
Also any exiles thinking about the match.
It’s not like it’s a tv game where they’ve moved it to 12:30.
Ha Ipswich are playing Wycombe away at 4pm on the same day. It’s a double header. Return match in Ipswich at 7:30
The KR double friendly schedule. I personally see nothing wrong with that, if you have a big enough squad to make it work. Obviously it's a bit tricky for the travelling fans, which is why doing that against the same side would be far more practical from that perspective, though I understand they will want to test themselves against a couple of first teams rather than a set of youngsters/reserves.Ha Ipswich are playing Wycombe away at 4pm on the same day.

Ah, but were we chosen because we are near Wycombe, or were they chosen because they are near us?F*ck me.
In seven months we've gone from competing with, and beating (on one of the greatest nights Grenoble Road has ever seen) an Ipswich side for whom we are now just 50% of some toe-curling double-header that appears to have been devised entirely for geographical convenience.
Grim.
The Chilterns Derby*Ah, but were we chosen because we are near Wycombe, or were they chosen because they are near us?
I quite liked the games against Palermo and MalagaNot attractive but would rather we play these types of friendlies rather than against more exotic opposition which don’t particularly help with getting us ready for the season.
Yes I enjoyed the Palmero game after winning tickets at Truck (despite hating PSFs generally).I quite liked the games against Palermo and Malaga
My understanding is Durex have stopped sending stock to Crawley, due to how much of a turn off it is being there.Yes I enjoyed the Palmero game after winning tickets at Truck (despite hating PSFs generally).
But I’d want us to play against clubs that get us best prepared for competing in the league - if that includes an overseas club, great. If it means only playing against Crawley and the like, then I’d go with that despite it being distinctly unsexy.
Matt Day Setanta Special. We're having a remembrance of the non-league days.
