These play off semi finals should just be one leg, 3rd at home to 6th, 4th at home to 5th. It’d save us the absolute bore fest first legs where so many end up 0-0. I couldn’t be bothered to watch either of the championship games and predictably both were goalless. Bar a bizarre 94th minute winner for Stockport that would have ended 0-0 too. OK, Bolton scored but the lack of jeopardy makes them so unwatchable and the away sides seem hell bent on just keeping a clean sheet with no intent at all. I’ll definitely watch the second legs though.

I had the misfortune of watching Stevenage v Stockport.

Stevenage are a big, physical, direct team built on defence but play little football from what I saw. It was a.
dreadful game and the irony was that Stevenage let in a really soft goal at the death to lose the first leg.

I didn’t know Matt Phillips was on the pitch - he was anonymous until subbed off.

I then saw Bradford lose at Bolton. The Bantams were shocking too.

I see your point, but our home leg against Peterborough was great, and I suspect we wouldn't have reached the final, had we needed a victory in the away leg. Possibly a win on pens.

The other problem with two legs is it gives the team in 6th - and probably 10-12 points off 3rd - an equal crack at making it. It should be much more weighted in favour of the teams in 3rd and 4th.

Quite, the home leg was well worth attending.

Not a fan of extending the qualifiers in this way - that 8th could go up ahead of 3rd is plain wrong.

I'd also like to see the higher placed team be given an advantage along the lines of, say, a goal head start for every 6 points they finished ahead and an automatic walkover if the gap is, say 20points.

coming on as sub was 41 year old Ian Henderson, their all time top scorer who’s a veteran of more than 800 games.
