Really fancy Sheff Weds and Ipswich to get promoted. Already, both have done excellent transfer business and both have had a season (Ippy a couple!) to have a look at what is required to get out the division.
I do have a niggling doubt about Wednesday that centres around (the very likable) Darren Moore.
Last season, it was felt by many that had arguably the best squad in the division playing with the handbrake on (early on especially).
They drew an awful lots of games through October/November which at that point kept them loitering outside of the play-off places.
It looks like he remedied that later on and they started putting teams away - scoring 3,4,5,6 (whilst also keeping it relatively tight at the back).
However, with an abundance of new signings, I do wonder if he may be inclined to tinker or tweak a winning formula to accomodate new players and
if they start the season modestly he could come under fire. You then have the potential for a Sunderland situation, whereby despite never being out of contention for promotion they're still perceived to be underachieving and the managerial merry-go-round continues.
Just checked - Wednesday's first 2 months are absolutely brutal. If they are up there at that point they could be as good as promoted, seriously.
Their first 11 games (August and September) include home games against Pompey, Barnsley, Ipswich, Wycombe and trips to MK, Peterborough, Bolton, Plymouth.
