Away Match Day Thread +++ 17/08/2019 L1: Blackpool v OUFC +++

I think if we play as we did in the first half against Peterborough we can win
I dont think Blackpool have really been challenged in their opening games, so it should be winnable.

Les Taylor bagged a brace at Bloomfield Road in January 1980 in a 2-1 victory.

Oxford played in a white Adidas away kit that day.

If memory serves, white( with blue trim? ) was 'traditionally' OUFC away/ 2nd kit, during the seasons when Kits / colours barely changed from season to season, way before replica shirts became fashionable, way before clubs cynically fleece fans, offer a new home and away option every season

( albeit the fa cup tie when the London road wall collapsed V watford , both teams played in 'different' colours -blue n white & red n white- I think? wasnt too pleased at the time as OUFC were the home side, so shouldve played in our Home/ first choice kit- still dont know what that was all about either!)

I’m watching Sunderland v Pompey for research purposes. :rolleyes: Given up at half time tbh.

I'd take a Sunderland win today (even if it ruins my acca early doors).

It'll buy Ross some more time and throw a spanner in the Pompey works. It's a lead against the run of play, so I still think Sunderland will go on to continue this shoddy run in the next few fixtures.

I reckon Blackpool 2 Oxford United 2 (Laura Brannagan & Ruff 'em up) Att: 8446 and 989 Yellows fans. A dog will run onto to pitch. Their scoreboard will malfunction just show adverts for local struggling hotels. Only half of their floodlights won't work, but it won't matter, because it doesn't get dark up north till late. Eastwood will injure his middle finger after eating whelks at half time. Sideburn and Dickiehead will get into a mix up and give away their second goal. The ref will have a nightmare game (for 'pool). Hooray for us! Forde will come on and get booked straight away. A lovesick owl will attack a pigeon mid-air and both will fall amorously into the directors' box. That just about does it for me. COYY

Still unbelievably no striker, so dependent on goals from midfield again.

This will be tough. 2-1 to Pool.
