Currie was world-class today.
As soon as I said as much to my mate, Currie promptly passed the ball for an opposition corner. Barring that though, he was immense.
Agree. Apart from that mistake, he looked like he could probably step up to the premier league with more ease than anyone else in our squad.

On the two new signings..

Not a surprise we improved in the second half once Konak had left the pitch for Vaulks. Constantly losing the ball and needless little fouls. Be surprised if we see much of him once McDonnell becomes a regular for us.

MPH looks a player but it’s so obvious he’d be a better number 10 than shoved out wide. Hopefully a left footed winger will sign before the end of the window in a similar mould to Mills. Direct & constantly on the front foot.

Brannagan & Currie the two standouts. Both outstanding.

Was really impressed with Cam today, especially given that he's just come back. Excellent close control in tight areas

I agree with earlier poster - : our chances of staying up feel around 25–30%, and that’s me the eternal optimist .

I'd honestly go higher than that. Don't be disheartened by results elsewhere - plenty of twists and turns to come.

The key will be eeking those wins. With 10 home games remaining it's quite possible that Bristol City were the last promotion candidates we'll see at ours (depending on how Hull hold up). 5 of those 10 games are against current bottom 7 sides too.

But, crucially (and I know I say this without seeing us away under him) I reckon that Bloomfield is more likely to have 3 or 4 away wins in him than Rowett ever was.

Call me mental but I fancy us to win 2 or 3 on the bounce, and soon. Be nice to start against QPR who we are absolutley due a good performance and result against.

8 wins from 20 games and we give ourselves every chance. It's do-able. And (at the risk of going all Kevin Keegan) I'd love to p*ss all over the cornflakes of those tinpot local journalists from The Preston Chronicle or The Blackburn Gazette who thought us impertinent for sacking a manager who'd given up on us.

New manager. New players. New impetus. Let's give this a real f*cking go.

Enjoyed today.
We had enough of the ball in good areas to hurt them, and on another day we would have.
I said to the people I went with to the game that I thought it’s now about to get really interesting for Oxford United. There is a belief in some quarters that we are definitely good enough in this league and a little inspiration and positivity will deliver good things.

Kojak - I thought he looked tidy but passed the ball too crisp at times which caught US s little flat footed.

MPH - decent. Won loads of diagonal headers and considering he hasn’t played too much, he was full of swagger. Early signs are good.

Thought we looked up for the physical battle and was really pleased with Jcurry and Cambran.

We never looked like conceding and felt we were the team who would have taken 3 points if it played out for another 15 mins.

Love a bit of Kojak

Just adding to this as I agree with you 100%, there are 60 points still to play for !

It may sound odd but I thought we missed Shemmy, it would have been great to bring him on when we were getting on top

Problem is you either replace him for Mills or you push Mills to left wing where he doesn't seem as good. Not sure if Jeon Jin Woo can play both sides but it says he is a right winger on most sites.

50 points normally keeps you up, Hull stayed up with 49 last season on GD.

So that's 27 points needed from 20 games remaining.

Exactly.

We've got to produce form that would put you about 14th over a full season.
A comparable 20 games to our last 20 last season (where we won a few but hardly pulled up any trees).
A comparable end to the season to how Derby or Wrexham (modestly) started this.

All eminently doable in a division of fine margins and where we've shown ourselves able to go toe-to-toe with literally anyone.

Instead (some) people are spinelessly acting as if we need to produce title f*cking winning form from a position of getting spanked every week.

Grow. A. Pair.

A strong and refreshing performance today and very unlucky not to win. We dominated the second half and made Bristol City look like a very mediocre outfit just like we did earlier in the season. I think Bloomfield got the starting line-up bang on and Jamie Cumming didn't have anything much to do. We really need to maintain this standard on Tuesday because that's a good opportunity of getting a win under our belt especially after results went against us today.

Sadly if you are Bet 365 we are going down ,but I think its important to build a team that battles to the end but also builds a team that takes you into next season firing snd ready to come back up better prepared than we were this season ,so when we come up we have more championship players instead league 1 class players. Let's battle to the end boys

Yep, let's write off the new player after his first 45 minutes at this level in his first game with new colleagues. Despite his 10 Premier League appearances he's obviously no good

The miss haunted me too.

I suppose you have to give Vitek credit for the save. The energetic Currie did fantastically well to get down the lift to centre for Mills.

Mills had to readjust slightly to get the ball into his stride - as the ball curved away from him as he ran into the penalty area - but he needed to place the ball higher and he allowed Vitek to smother the shot.

It was still a great chance to take all three points.

Enjoyed being back in my seat up in the north stand following my accident. A much more refreshing game (1st half less so but 2nd half clearly better) and you can see the change of energy and atmosphere around the place from players, fans to media and coaching team.
Rowett had run out of enthusiasm/mojo/ideas and it was evident a couple of months ago that the style and direction wasn’t working under him.
Wish we had been quicker and more decisive but people would’ve moaned either way. Whether it’s too late for MB we’ll soon find out - I sincerely hope we can go on a decent run but at least we will all be pulling in the same direction and give it our best shot.
