14/03/2026 - MDT: Oxford United v Charlton Athletic

I think the “on the beach” aspect could really play into our hands. We have three, potentially four of our last eight opponents sipping their pina colada by our games, in all likelihood.

I suspect Millwall and Wrexham will be secure in their play off spots but not with a shout of the autos, Watford will be in mid table obscurity.

These three could end up being our “easiest” games, and I’m even including Sheff Wed in that.

Think it's a stretch for Wrexham to have secured a playoff spot with three to go. Southampton are only three points behind them and in the best form of anyone in the division (actually wouldn't surprise me if they both eventually get in at Hull's expense.....)

But fingers crossed Millwall will have. Because if they are in by the time we play them, it's even better than facing a side that's 'on the beach'......it's facing a side that's actively going to be doing everything it can to not get injured or suspended.

It'll also be interesting to see how some of the teams in and around the top react to having a different type of pressure on the outcomes of their games.

I think there's a subtle but significant difference between putting yourself in and around the play offs and suddenly playing quite a lot of must win games.

Fair point on Wrexham. I hope we can put a dent in Southampton this weekend.

I think there’s a chance that Derby won’t have much to play for, either. However, a major contributing factor to that would be Pompey beating them tonight, and my goodness we don’t want that.

Fancy a play-off chasing Derby to be too much tonight.

I need a lie down. These permutations are bad enough with eight games to go. If we stay in the hunt goodness knows what it’ll be like with a few to go.

Some bloke behind us at the Blackburn game spent the whole match referring to ‘Will Lancashire’.
Unless you spent part of the game chanting “We are the rights” then he wasn’t the only one, as I had one behind me, too.

Mine was mostly using his name to Bash Prelec, saying “See Lancashire scores that!” Every time he failed to van Persie it into the top corner after we hoofed it forward within ten yards of him.

I have watched the highlights again and still can’t understand what CB was up to such a blatant pull back Jamie was coming out to get it … 2 points dropped

I think we can close the door on this one?
Brown knows he was at fault, Bloomfield knows it and we know it.
Move on.
