Away Match Day Thread 13/11/2021 L1: Ipswich Town v OUFC

A brilliant game for 35 minutes until the officials decided to let the fans referee the game. We defended brilliantly at times and attacked very well too. Hopefully the ref has a word with himself at half time - 45 minutes like the last 10 of the first half and we're leaving the game with zero points, a few red cards and Karl's head exploding with rage.

Good game, this. A couple of chances for us and off the woodwork twice for them. Their game plan looks to be to shoot from distance. Edwards has the beating of Long for pace but hasn’t delivered anything meaningful yet.

Sykes is doing great. He really snaps at the opposition’s heels and wins the ball back so often. Kane is classy and is doing well at mopping up second balls from their set pieces.

Long is having a tough time. He’s got the wrong side of his man a few times and hasn’t got tight enough. Henry looks a tad slower today too.

From admittedly a distance away it didn’t look a pen for the Holland decision. He simply lost control of it and the defender took the chance to get the ball.

Great game. Really enjoying watching Oxford’s style. The speed we’re running at them is brilliant but has the downside that there is no time to think about whether to shoot or pass.

If Taylor wants a penalty he needs to go down less extravagantly and stay down to make it look serious. A bit too Marcel Marceau currently.

We're doing ok. Will take a draw but we could just win it with a bit of luck and a following wind.

Definitely not a pen from the replays, foul from the initial tackle outside the box but the second tackle was a really good bit of defending.

Come on Oxford.

I have a good feeling about the second half.

Nothing heard from Kip, so he must be out out.

Always a good sign 😁

Referee carrying on how he finished the first half with a wrong throw in decision that lead to a very good chance, then a foul that leaves Brannagan injured ignored too
