Little old wycombe have done it. Everyone was underestimating them. Did we get too cocky?

Thanks to all at OUFC for such a wonderful season, so many high moments to be a part of. The last game is a shame but we got what deserved, so no complaints from me at all. Can only reflect on what could have been.

Well done to Wycombe, they took their chances when we did not. There is a lesson there for our players

Too many mistakes at crucial moments. Eastwood missed the cross and Ruffels got out muscled for the first, Moore too casual and Eastwood too slow off the mark for the second. But the biggest mistake was Henry not scoring when clean through. We were well on top and needed to score during that spell.

Gutted, but we're Oxford and we go again.

B*****s.

No-one underestimated them at all. Everyone knew they were dangerous and we had to be on it. 4 or 5 players just weren't.
Re-read the forums. The amount of posts about us in the championship. Everyone assumed the job was already done.

Oh well. At least it's a good f*****g story.

All I've been hearing. "Wouldn't it be nice for plucky Wycombe to go up, having sneaked into the playoffs through pure mathematical luck? Have a jolly one season in the tier above and come down after a nice holiday and about 5 points?"

Two second half moments of madness cost us dear.

Wycombe were well drilled and very disciplined and you know a game against a team set up like them will come down to a couple of moments.

People will moan that we didn’t have a game plan or weren’t up for it. I saw nothing of the sort. I saw an effective game plan put into action well but not brilliantly, but two big moments changing everything.

Poor first half much better second half. A great effort this season by the players particular post January sales. Hopefully we can use the Dickie and Brannigan funds and build again for next year or the year after. Gutted but next season will come round soon and the club is heading in the right direction

Simon Eastwood can go. Both goals his fault and he’s been poor this season. He shouted for Moore to duck out of that and then tried to blame him after - he was on his bike far too quickly for a notoriously flat footed and ‘stay at home’ keeper, and Moore hasn’t ducked out of a header all season. As soon as it bounced you knew he was clattering him and that was that.

And as for Marcus Browne - watch that moment before the penalty again when the dust settles. Their right back scuffs the ball back to the keeper and if Browne is paying attention he runs clean through. Instead he gives up, turns and starts berating somebody, and it’s the subsequent long ball clearance that goes over Moore. You know what happens next.

Thrown away needlessly and pointlessly.
