Matt Bloomfield and Ed Still pre-match:

Oh God, I don’t like it when I hear stats like ‘17 away games without a win’ about the opposition.
Having said that, we can beat anyone in this division on our day. Let’s make it our day.
Pressure from minute one, let’s show Watford how much we want this and come out winners.

Today’s referee is the experienced Stephen Martin from Staffordshire.Been a Championship referee since 2012-13.

First U’s fixture - August 12th 2008 Oxford U 0-1 Weymouth
Last U’s fixture - January 31st 2026 Oxford U 0-2 Birmingham City

It’s 17 games unbeaten in the months April and May.
Watford beat Bristol City away at the end of February.

I would rather they were on a bad run than a good one.

It’s a bit do or die today, we can’t draw our way to safety, we have two tough away games and the games are running out, we need wins in these last 3 home games, time for the home form to keep us up like it did last season.

The wind is up. Can we use it to our advantage? We did seem to benefit more than Hull last time out. Defenders need to adjust their positions when longs balls are player through.

Have to win today.

There’s a feasible realistic route to 50 points where we win today, beat Sheffield Wednesday at home and need 3 points from the other 3 games.

Draw or defeat today and we’re relying on winning games we’re underdogs in or a lower total being enough. Long shot territory.

Another sold out away section.

I don’t want to be pedantic (and to be clear I really want us to win today) but if we draw today and Portsmouth and Leicester both lose, we’ll be out of the relegation places…
This is the only scenario where a draw would be ok I think, but bookies offering nearly 5/1 on a Boro/Swans double.

Bloomfield has been heavily backed but we are still in the relegation zone.

We feel like a club that regards a draw as a good result whenever we play anyone above us in the table.

Recent home draws against Charlton and Hull at home, then 10 man Portsmouth were not good results in the current position we find ourselves.

Need a win today. COYY.

I wouldn't be relying on Middlesbrough doing us a favour they have proper bottled the auto promotion push

Swansea are a mixed bag could pull of a win but also as likely to lose

We just need to concentrate on what we can do and make sure we win today let's everyone else worry about themselves

Huge game today needs a huge atmosphere let's get the Kassam rocking

But we need to amass points towards our end up total, that will decide where we finish not nipping out for one weekend. If Portsmouth were to win their game in hand in midweek under your scenario we would be back in the relegation zone.

Bring it home boys, we are not drawing our way out of this.

After being very careless last week having got our noses in front, we can't possibly afford any more slip ups.

This is true.

But if we win and they lose, the extra points gap piles on more pressure.

We need to start adding pressure to the pot.
