Just back. I really hope we can look back on that as the end of one era and the start of the next. It was atrocious, against a L2 team that didn't even start their whole usual XI.

There some 'positives'. Ingram was excellent, Mills at least tried to get something going, Davis/Helik looked like an OK partnership, MPH is going to be a real asset and (very surprisingly), I thought Romney added something when he came on. He isn't a winger though!

The lino on the left in front of us was of the most useless officials I have seen recently.

I hope I forget virtually everything about it as soon as possible.

I wish someone could work out what Romeny’s position is before he leaves! Has anyone asked him?

Grim game, great result. Pens were high class, Ingram was v good in second half. Peart - Harris and Mills pick up front. And we scored from a Vaulks long throw - thought those days were done.

MK will go up , they have got some v decent players and the Kuwaiti owners have got big bucks. Not the worst result in the world tonight at all.

Met Messrs Currie and Lankshear Senior at the game plus Sparky’s best mate who’d come all the way from Swansea to watch him. Very pleasant, grounded people. Curries family come from Hampton Court and the Lankshears from St Albans.

What was the Curries assessment of there Son- do they agree the Championship is probably as high as he will go ?

Yes! I couldn’t believe he didn’t help the ref out by flagging for the penalty (he flagged for quite a few other fouls so was clearly empowered to do so by the referee). And I swear he gave an offside against Harris in extra time when Sparky seemed to come from MILES behind their defensive line and looked nowhere near off!

Didn’t go last night but the goal we conceded from another set piece is criminal.

A deep MK corner-kick and again we lose the first contact with Long being out-jumped
by Sanders and the knock-down sees a panic and despite all those yellow shirts in the box Collins somehow spins and drives past Ingram.

These soft goals have to be eradicated asap. It is happening with alarming regularity.

Don’t get me wrong - I’m delighted to get through to R4 - but failing to beat a L2 team over two hours of football who were without six first teamers has to be concerning.

That’ll do. Am I pleased with the performance? Hmmm. Am I pleased with the entertainment and final result? Yes! No better way of milking every moment of enjoyment than it going to pens and your team winning. Into the fourth round, build some confidence for the start of MBs tenure and hoping for a great draw in the next round. COYY!

First thing Bloomfield needs to scrap is that bloody zonal marking nonsense we insist on doing when defending set pieces.

So as a result of getting through we now go 4 weeks without a home Championship game from last day of January to last day of February (unless Norwich is rearranged for a Tuesday in Feb - even then it's no Saturday home League game for 4 weeks).

Bloomfield will have to hit the ground running in January. A horrid February just got worse.

Norwich are home to Walsall, so that match always had a high chance of being moved anyway.

When did they stop giving tier 2 sides a blank week for the FA Cup 4th round?

Who do we all want in the next round then? Fulham away for me, not far and a good day out, doubt we have any chance of a result against any prem side though.
A 'teams like Oxford' at home please.

Quite fancy saving the bigger game until r5

For what it’s worth….

Curates egg of a game. Much better in extra time. Ingram good, surprisingly. ‘Half Harris’ (MPH) shows some promise He has some of his mates (Ivan Tony) arrogance but looks a good prospect in the short term (he will go in the summer whatever…)

Jamie D has 3 injuries, allegedly - Ribs, shoulder, and concussion. Played 15 min and probably out for ages. You really couldn't make it up....As someone said ‘Unusal for Oxford…we usually get them in already injured’

Nailed on pen ignored, too. We were wondering if it got to pens, whether the ref would simply let Dongs take 3…..

‘We are Ox4d and we don’t get penalties’

Not too bad for my first away game post Covid.

....(dare I say it - despite him having his limitations when it came to pace and skill at the second tier level - perhaps we are missing Elliott Moore massively after all, for his organization as much as his size and strength? And that's where we need to find a leader in January?)....
I agree with this - it can't just be a coincidence that our defence has crumbled since he left, given that there have been so few other changes back there
