Historically, a player who committed a foul within their own penalty area that denied an obvious goal-scoring opportunity would be sent off (red card) and the opposing team would be awarded a penalty kick. This was considered "double jeopardy" due to the multiple penalties.
In 2016, the Laws of the Game for a penalty were amended to address this perceived harshness. Now, if a player commits a foul within their own penalty area that denies an obvious goal-scoring opportunity and the referee awards a penalty kick, the player will only be cautioned (yellow card) if the foul was a genuine attempt to play the ball.
The point is that he fouled Moore before he tried to get the ball.He has tried to get the ball, albeit a few metres after the foul starts, but he has got something on it and for me I would’ve said that’s a penalty and a yellow but it’s far from the worst decision I’ve seen.
Watch Moore's legs. Yes Dickie pulled him sufficiently to put him off and commit a foul but it's definitely isn't enough to make Moore's legs completely buckle at they did. Hence 'made the most of it'.I’m not sure how Moore made the most of it, Dickie had both his arms on him and pulled him down. You can even see the pull more clearly as Dickie tries to get round him to get the ball.
As far as soft penalty’s go, that isn’t even close.
Dickie sadly confirmed last night that he will never play in the Premier. He’s a good ball player and strong in the air but too statuesque.
Bristol City’s appeal against Dickies sending off was not successful.
In other news Swindon is still a s**t hole.Bristol City’s appeal against Dickies sending off was not successful.
2-0 now, 5-0 on aggregate. Manning and his boys just haven’t shown up.1-0 to Sheff in the second leg, 4-0 on aggregate.
Game over
Good, f**k off Manning! I think the grudge may end for me now but I couldn’t have stomached him getting promoted this season.2-0 now, 5-0 on aggregate. Manning and his boys just haven’t shown up.
The grudge ends now for you?! Are you even a proper fan? I’ve got another 20 years of bitching about how he left yet!Good, f**k off Manning! I think the grudge may end for me now but I couldn’t have stomached him getting promoted this season.
Ah yes I remember his goalYou’re all going to look very silly after McGuane scores six goals in the last ten minutes.
Looking forward to hearing who is at fault for this drubbing. Is it the ref? Is it those mean nasty Oxford fans not showing him enough respect? Was it the players switching off during the PowerPoint?
Still a bit shocked we beat this Sheff Utd team when they were top of the league and eyeing up automatic promotion!

Yeah they were playing Starman before kick off.A nice touch from the Blades. Lots of songs sung for Baldock tonight too apparently.

The play offs are a great thing and I love watching all the games. No doubt the EFL will soon try and change them in some way as they hate when something works.Already seeing the usual nonsense on the coverage surrounding it about playoffs being useless![]()
A chant we should definitely adopt next season. We sign about Beano so we should certainly sing about Baldock.Yeah they were playing Starman before kick off.
Much as I appreciate how good he was for us, he was only on loan.A chant we should definitely adopt next season. We sign about Beano so we should certainly sing about Baldock.
