Cumming
Makosso Helik Davies
Spencer Konak Brannagan Roosken
MPH Lankshear Emakhu

Subs: Ingram, Leigh, Brown, Long, Vaulks, Woo, Mills, Placheta, Harris

Left Out: Dembele, Romeny

Injured: Currie, HTA, McDonnell, BDK, Donley, Goodrham, Prelec
Brown over Helik all day long for me, and stick Davies in the middle, neither Brown or Helik should ever be the middle of a back three in my opinion.

Let's just try and keep the score line respectable. Coventry are a very good team but not in very good form we all know how that usually turns out for us

Why when people are making team predictions are you all putting players in their right positions thats not how managers work
Maybe something like
Placeta ( gk)
Harris Lankshear mills dembele Vaulks
Brown
Currie Spencer
Brannagan Helik MPH

That's usually how it goes
😜

Ive a feeling MB will get it right on Saturday, with a couple of new signings in, hopefully a couple off the injury lists fit too, and things start to click , reckon we'll get an unlikely but welcome away win, igniting an winning run, 1-2
That's pessimistic from you Sarge. That worries me.

Any parking recommendations for this one that aren’t pay a fortune to park at one of the stadium car parks and queue in Kassam-esque lines for an eternity getting out? (Please 🤣)

Immediately, post Sheffield, my opinion was another humiliating defeat. On reflection, we should have the new signings up to speed, at least some of them and, with Coventry having a bit of a wobble, I can see no reason why we shouldn't get something from this game.
Yes, of course we have been crap all season but the efforts put in to improve the team have to have some effect at some point, don't they?

The one thing Coventry carry is a very good attacking threat - defensively they are average at best

If MB plays a similar formation to Tuesday they will be licking their lips at the prospect of a goal fest

Time for a radically different plan

Five defenders wasn’t enough?

Want to believe we can get something from this, but fear it's going to be a repeat of Tuesday...stay solid and get some minutes into the new players and it won't all be a total loss, but it's going to be a struggle if their forward line is on it.

It's the midfield that needs tightening. Vaulks and Cam Bran together doesnt work. I prefer three in midfield and an old fashioned 4-3-3.

Agreed.

If we persist with five at the back expect to see the gaps in behind our 'wing-backs' massively exploited against the best widemen in the EFL.

With only two in midfield (aside from lower possession stats than the 30% in the week), you can also expect to see gaping holes that offer up plenty of shooting opportunities for midfielders who like shooting from range.

Or we could play a flat back 4 (with Brown at LB). Play 3 in midfield. Try and get some sort of a foothold. Defend as a unit. And use any combination of Shemmy/ Emankhu/ MPH/ Mills to provide the width and attacking intent (rather than Brodie Spencer and Sam Long) by getting them high and wide. Get balls in the box wherever possible. Play Lankshear.

I reckon we will get "Boltoned", the s**t game, not the great one, especially if we play wing backs, but maybe that's what it needs? Just like the start to the Buckingham era we have been mostly poor all season without getting completely turned over, a thumping could see us wake up and change tack, which is what we now need to stay up. Going to be a lot harder to do it in this league but if we are to have the unlikely successful relegation battle we need to get on a run and amass some serious points.

Hot take: Goals scored with unusual body parts should count extra. So Mark Harris's goal off his nob last year should've been worth four.
If we apply the same to unusual assists, we could have claimed 8 for it after Ruben's 1cm off the ground diving header to set it up.

As weird Oxford goals go, that one was right up there.

The trouble is, we *have* changed tack, to the weird 'five defenders no midfield' shape.
