Shocking end to that shootout. Absolute pi*s poor pens. Crawley game absolutely pointless so play as many of the youngsters as we are allowed to.

Oh well. Doesn't really matter - just means an away trip in the guaranteed next round. All around performance a bit flat, but their goalie did make a few worldies. Always feel a pen shootout is a useful experience to get under the belt, though our last two in particular were very poor. Absolutely no excuse for missing the target. Hope we don't play any first teamers in Crawley, which is a genuinely complete dead rubber, absolutely nothing hangs on it. Good as well for Taylor to notch another goal to keep his nice little run going, it was taken very well.

Horrendous swcond half. Really s**t. But got the point we needed. Not that it matters in this cup, but keeps a run of sorts going.

They may be kids, but they pretty good at pens. At least we've no new injuries so that's something!

Eastleigh won tonight, just one point off the playoff's now.

Yep, Crawley should be used to make as many changes as possible that we can muster under the rules.

Stevens should definitely play if just to give Eastwood a bit of a scare. He’s made a few errors of late.

Just shows our second string could not better a Pompey Sunday School team. We don't have as much strength in depth as we think we have. Crap competition anyway.

We played really poorly. Imo only brannigan had a decent game and maybe our centre backs. Dickie really needs to learn how to head a ball from a corner, he could and shoild of have had a hat trick of headed goals. Thought hall, sykes and especially Baptiste were really poor with both passing and dribbling way off norm. Eastwood pulled off a great save on the one on one but then again at fault for their 2nd goal not coming out quick enough.

It shows we don't have strength in depth once 3/4 injuries creep in. It's the one thing that could hinder us if we keep this fantastic run going.

I wouldn’t read too much into tonight. It’s a competition everybody struggles to get up for, players as well as supporters. The only good thing is it’s now a game out of the way. Move on to the proper stuff again on Saturday now.

The Pompey keeper kept them in it and we gifted them two goals. The strength in depth is definitely there, check the stats. “It was one of those” tonight, that’s all.

Since Shandon got all the rave reviews after the west ham match it sounds like his form has dipped a bit . Time for a quiet word perhaps.
