Flippin eck, their equaliser was a punch in the guts. Though I think it would be a particularly 'rose tinted' Oxford fan to say that they were not worth a point. I thought we were pretty poor in the first half, much better in the 2nd but we failed to make the most of our one man advantage. Pompey's 2nd, and Charlton's equaliser a couple of weeks ago could well be season defining..

I think MPH is a decent footballer, but I've no idea what his best position is. He's strong, has a good touch, get's stuck in and in many ways I quite like him but he is not a left midfielder. I think we're really lacking in that left position. We only had an attacking outlet on the right today, I'd like to have seen MPH dropped for Placheta today.

I'm really confused with Bloomfield, on one hand we look a better team since he took over but some of his decisions really are confusing. In a relatively short period of time we've had that Norwich selection, Roosken chucked in on Friday and then completely out of the squad today, and then the formation change when Placheta came on today. It just looks at times that Bloomfield is over complicating it.

We can all have a sulk tonight, cos it was gut wrenching, but this season is far from over and we've got to get the Kassam rocking on Saturday. Watford is huge and very winnable, and we still have Sheff Weds to play(yes I know they drew today). Next weekend sees Millwall at West Brom, Pompey at Boro, and Swansea go to Leicester. I've just watched the Swansea v Boro game and Swansea looked decent and look far from being on the beach. Some tough games, but of course we absolutely have to start taking our chances..

It's certainly been an emotional roller coaster for the fans this year, but we have got to hang in there for the remaining 6. It's far from over..

Frustrating to not win today, definitely a red given the scissor tackle, shame that Portsmouth then felt the need to fall over at every opportunity and the ref felt the need to even things up if he could. We’re still in it and the post mortem and finger pointing can wait until the season ends.
Until then, there’s five games to go, I really hope that the negative, perennial defeatists on here aren’t stood next to me at any of those five games, I swear some people actually want us to do badly.

But he's not, since he greatly contributed to 6 points at Ipswich and Leicester. You're using so much personal bias rather than looking at the bigger picture.

I think you do often make a fair point, and are more self-aware than people realise, but I wonder whether you actually love the players and share in their struggles and joys. Booing Mills for the entire game, just because your player tried to take him out and had to face repercussions for it.

General arrogance - singing you were getting promoted because you edged a shockingly poor quality game at the Kassam on the first day of the season and generally being derogatory to some of the smaller clubs.

MPH is an interesting one. He has multiple occasions where he was given so much space by the full back and a different sort of winger would have ran at him but it’s just not his game, he does not take on his fullback in the way Mills does. That does not take away what a very good player he is but I fancy 10 is his best position and it’s not where he will play for us. Overall it was a good 2nd half and frustrating rather tha poor

Mills was great, but I totally agree. Stood right in line with Mills, thought he could have 'hooked it' clear. (At least for a throw in)
But guess he wasn't to know the sh1t defending that followed.

The ref had an ideal opportunity to even things up when Spencer tangled with their player and could have been shown a yellow card. Listening to Talk sport on the way back and they were saying the Portsmouth player ran across him so the ref made the right call, but I doubt many would have been shocked if the ref had booked him. If he'd wanted to even things up that was his ideal chance

This is a much stronger squad than we started the season with. Most of the January players are pretty good imo. I still think we might make it. Personally, I think Rowett would have kept us up comfortably if he'd had this group from August onwards. I don't much rate Bloomfield. But that's another argument for another day. This season definitely isn't over. Charlton aren't out of it yet btw. Blackburn and Pompey both have really tricky run ins.

Bloomfield is ticking over at 1.2 ppg compared to 0.86 ppg under Rowett. Over a season thats the difference between 54 points to 40.

That isn't down to January signings alone, especially as Konak, and to a lesser extent, Donley, are the only ones making a real impact.

Not perfect, and still needs to finish the job, but Bloomfield deserves much more credit than some give him.

This weekend has shown me that neither Portsmouth (3pts from last 8 games) or Leicester (9pts from last 11 games) will get anywhere near 50 points. In fact, the only game either will be confident of winning will be against each other.

Beat Watford, Sheff Wed and a point or two from the others and I reckon we'll be fine.

It will never work out how everyone thinks, football just isn’t like that. Virtually to a man on here people were saying Blackburn - around the time we beat them - were as good as gone, so poor were they, and it was one from the rest to join them and Wednesday. At this exact same time Pompey were about six or seven clear and hardly in the conversation. Four weeks later Blackburn look as good as safe with Pompey teetering on the brink. You can’t put it past us, Pompey or Leicester to win a couple on the spin and go within touching distance of safety. It’s impossible to call and absolutely nothing suggests we are getting near 50 points either.

Bloomfield has better players- and a stronger squad- to work with imo. MPH is also Championship standard, and the presence of Massoko has made Helik up his game hugely. Donley was poor today, but has also made a big difference. But we'll have to agree to disagree.
