An easy three points for us.

A PNE-supporting friend wrote as follows:

Following the Millwall debacle, after the game the remaining North End fans had a meeting in the Town End and the six of us decided that the season was already over and all our future opponents can take the 3 points.
Over to you. It’s in your own hands. All your team needs to do is turn up on time.

I think our front six pick themselves after Konak’s performance the other day. Think we should prioritise pace at the back, so if Spencer is fit, should be:

Cumming
Spencer Makosso Brown Currie
Brannagan Konak
Mills Donley MPH
Lankshear

Prelec and Jin-Woo off the bench.
We have some decent options nowadays and no reason why we can’t get a win. If we do, it’ll our be biggest result for a long, long time.

HTA or Long if Spencer isn't fit? I'd like to see HTA but he may not be fully up to speed

Cumming
Spencer Brown Makosso Currie
Brannagan McDonnell (if fit)
Mills Donley MPH
and then I can't choose between Lankshear and Prelec

Lankshear to start for me as he's got better fitness levels and has more goal threat. Prelec works much better than Lankshear as a sub aswell.

Cumming
Long Helik brown Currie
Konak brannagan
Mills Prelec woo
Lankshear

Friday night, live on SKY - Yep, you can just feel the whole country really looking forward this one ....... No mate, can't go out tonight it is Preston v Oxford live on TV!!!!!
What a f***** farce, Sadly, annoyingly, I really can't be bothered to tackle the Friday evening traffic to get there and then drive back across the M62 in the pitch black darkness with rain and then negotiate, navigate the road closures on the A1, not to mention the slalom of avoiding the pot holes
Saturday would have been a nice, pleasant football day out.
Not only are genuine football fans missing out but also the local pubs must be losing a bit of dosh with much lower away attendance.
I’m guessing you weren’t there on Saturday and weren’t properly buoyed by our 2-1 win?
I saw this is on Sky but thought f**k it, the thought of getting a result on the road that takes us out of the bottom three, one of those priceless moments in football that don’t come along very often, that’s enough to get me to Preston.
If we lose, f**k it, it’s only three hours home, I’ve got 2000+ tracks of quality music to pass the time.
Keep the faith. Back the boys, they need us.

This is all well and good so long as they're not due to play Blackburn, West Brom or Charlton.

Now we are at the four week notice for fixture rearrangements it's harder to plan games in advance.
OK if you've no commitments and don't mind driving or using the supporters coach.
For me would have meant train and B&B / hotel. Without a railcard discount, getting to Preston by train from London on a Friday and back on a Saturday is over £150 inlcuding travel from home, unless I pick slow trains. Add on accomodation and it's even less attractive for a Friday.

Games like Hull (home) on Good Friday, Southampton away and Pompey away are much more attractive. Network card gets me 1/3 of train tickets. Off peak return is just a few quid more than advance so travel costs £20 to £30 and home same day.

Well in April they are away to Leicester and Charlton, and home to West Brom...
Then hopefully the 4-0 pasting we give them on Friday wakes them up a bit for the last couple of months of the season 🤞🏼

I was so tempted by this but ultimately decided no. If it was a Saturday, it was definitely on, but decided the pressure to get away from my desk and make that journey on a Friday night was just too tight on time.

Instead… I’ll pop down my local and enjoy a few pre match beers and a bite to eat then roar the boys on from home.

My reply to the original poster was based on their ability to drive there but they chose not to. I appreciate there are a hundred reasons why people can’t go, but if someone can, I’d encourage them to go.

I think the point being made was the fixture change to a Friday night (pointless) has made it much more preventative to get to the game.
