There we are then, do that Des. Goodrham has to play as our most potent goal threat and if we can rely on Leigh and the right sided wing back to get forwards it could bear fruit.

Also allows us to get Sam Long in the team as one of the holding midfielders.
Sam Long as a holding midfield player. Really?

The tone of your last sentence suggests Sam Long as a holding midfielder is completely normal scenario?

Cumming
Nelson Moore Brown
Kioso. Vaulks Mceachran Leigh
Harris Goodrham
Scarlett
I dont think we’ll go five at the back unless we’ve been secretly been preparing for some time. But I don’t want to see Harris or RR starting. It would be good to fit Leigh in somewhere, I guess on the left.

For me he has a lot of credit in the bank, but not everyone. Hull is the biggest game of the season thus far.

It doesn’t get any easier after Hull. Watford and Sheff Utd away interspaced by Middlesbrough at home.
Des will be under pressure as the board will want to stay in this league also with the new stadium 🏟 on the horizon

I don’t think the board will be pressuring Des, they didn’t expect us to be where are are right now.
Completely agree. We are doing ok so far with another transfer window to come. The board will know that Des is only at the start of building this team into a championship side. No way are they going to pull the plug at the first run of bad results.

Yes we need to start picking up some wins but they will come, starting with tomorrow night.

I think many are forgetting that before a ball was kicked we were the favourites to be the whipping boys yet that hasn’t happened.

Right now we are by far the smallest club in the league.

Actually playing a back 3 is completely different and not many clubs actually use it so why would we when we are set up as a back 4 and quite competent at it. In a 3 your wide CBs need to be able to go out wide because of the absence of a fullback which I would say Brown could do but Moore couldn’t. And obviously the most important positions in it are your wingbacks, of course Leigh could play that role although DB clearly doesn’t trust him for an important role so why would he start now and also who would do it on the right, Kioso and Ter Avest are full backs aren’t they. I suppose they could shoehorn a midfielder in to do it but that’s another player out of position. Just my humble opinion to all the armchair coaches on this forum.

Unnecessary dig there 🤷‍♂️

Are people not allowed to have in depth knowledge, simply because they watch the game, instead of coach it?

Nobody is sitting at home in their armchair, thinking they know more about the game than the manager, but most who have been watching and playing the game for decades will have developed a pretty in depth knowledge of the game themselves, and will have their own valid ideas and suggestions.

Right or wrong, it's only their "humble opinion", just like yours.

Jesus, no. What problems could possibly be fixed by putting our third best right back/fourth best centre

The problem of your LSD purveyor failing to turn up?

LOL where are these people leaving abusive remarks? I’ve never heard anything so pathetic. Sounds like sport is not for them.

I do love how, collectively, before a ball is kicked, we all acknowledge that the forthcoming season will be challenging at times.

Then, when the season does become challenging, we sulk like [insert offensive, but non-offensive term here]!

It's good to have a plan B. Many past managers have been vilified for not having one.
