Home Match Day Thread 05/04/25: Championship - OUFC v Sheffield United

Just hope we don’t throw away this hard fought win by losing against QPR on Wednesday.

Got to go at them from the off and play on the front foot e.g. no slowing the game down, unless we’re really under the cosh!

On this, why did Goodrham appear to slip on two occasions? It’s a long time since I played so I don’t know whether it’s stud type, formation of studs or simply the turn of direction.

Not a criticism, I thought he had a better game. Just noticed he had at least one, if not two slips from my position in the east stand.
I think he was just over eager to chase down anything and force an error somewhere. He was certainly well up for it and desperate to take his chance buoyed on by that crowd.

I think we just have to calm down and accept some games we will do worse than expected and others we will do better!

It's the expected outcome of being pragmatic and staying competitive in every game. We could have easily lost to Watford and Sheffield United on the balance of play, but equally we could have won several other games that we came out the wrong side of. Which means it could still be a very tense end to the season. Ideally it will just be a very tense next couple of games, we win them both by the odd goal and then we can relax a bit.

Quite a few empty seats.

Yet people complain when there is early kick offs, I swear they are fuller for those kick offs than the 3pm’s.

I know a lot of people tend to sit in other seats than their actual one and sometimes with friends but people shouldn’t complain about early kick offs when they don’t even turn up for 3pm’s

I agree. The ultra annoying thing for me is without some utter stupidity earlier in the season, we would be in the beech.
That’s why I feel so buoyed by Saturday. No silly stuff, and unbelievable resilience!

Good for him. Some supporters (of many teams) seem to think they are entitled to see a win every week, and that simply isn't how football works. I saw no lack of effort from the Blades players.
Agree, it was certainly not for the lack of effort.
Every club has these kind of supporters I guess, and I can understand Wilders annoyance.
