if we sit back deep, inviting them to attack us in waves they'll likely shred us

If I'm going for a bit more of a refined version of this - if we do what we often do against good opposition (Boro last w/e for instance) and sit back deep, letting them have the ball pretty much at will on the flanks, then I think they'll kill us. They've got two really decent, attacking full backs (Burrows and the young lad, Seriki) and if we let them have the run of our half (as we did against Boro) then we've no chance.

We absolutely have to get our wide players pushed on and force those two back into doing some defending.

As a result, I would go back to 4-2-3-1 for this, with Shemmy and Dembele on the flanks with orders to push up as much as possible. Then I would go for the most solid possible midfield three. If Cam's fit, then him with Vaulks and Matos. If not, whichever out of RR and El Miz has been looking better in training.

It’s been really dry lately. I hope we have been training on a horrible dry pitch this last week and that we have our groundsman preparing something equally horrible for the visit of Sheffield United.

Would be worth any fine if we walked away with a point tomorrow on a pitch that doesn’t take any sort of stud.

Sometimes you have to take advantage of a situation and use it to your advantage.

Wouldn’t try it on QPR on Weds though. I could swear that old plastic pitch is still in their DNA.

I don't know where else to ask this, but, an old chant of yester year, for you olduns...it went...."one man went to mow......"..etc..or something like that.
What was that all about?

One man went to mow
Went to mow a meadow
One man and his dog
(Called Spot)
Went to mow a meadow

Two men went to mow
Went to mow a meadow
Two men, one man and his dog
(Called Spot)
Went to mow a meadow

Three men went to mow
Went to mow a meadow
Three men, two men, one man and his dog
(Called Spot)
Went to mow a meadow

Etc etc ending with the Ten men went to mow verse.

Very 1980’s by the London Road and probably pinched from Chelsea regularly singing it back in the day. Why we sung it I will never know.
