Not sure it's that bold? Matos would give us more legs, could even go with a flat midfield 3 as a pose to a traditional number 10 like we have been playing. I just hink Romeny would give us a bit more physicality and mobility on the break as a pose to Tyler or Dembele.

I can even see GR going with Long in a back 3 tbh, at least to start with to try and frustrate them.

Not about backbone it’s about realistic expectations.

Yes it’s eleven v eleven and of course anything can happen.

But we are talking about a club who were in the top tier last year and have most of their squad plus a few new additions costing more than the value of our squad. Against a side that scrambled into the third tier playoffs last year and still have six of that squad as regular first teamers.

This would go down as a home win on most pools coupons.

There is a chance that if they don’t perform or take us for granted we could put in a performance like we did against them at home.

I think we will fight for everything but they will be too good. My opinion and I hope I’m wrong and we nick something

Bit of a blurred line here for the Mods I feel. While many supporters will have a bet on the game, maybe even mid game, to have a couple of betting slip screenshots posted in quick succession is arguably irresponsible and the Mods should take them down as soon as one person complained. This would certainly breach the Online Safety Act so we need to get this sorted.

The post has been removed. I know that no offence was intended and was probably just an innocent mistake. I get really wound up and angry when betting adverts come on the telly, especially during football games, with their jovial, why-not-have-a-go, mock-friendly, give-us-yer-money , ‘acca-bantz’ attitude. I know they are a source of ‘fun’, escapism and employment for some I just think their targeting of football is crap.

It was a lame formatting related ‘joke’.

But I would have no problem with that starting eleven. Would probably go with Dembele still to give us more of an out-ball as he’s good at retaining procession.

But absolutely agree on Matos starting. Feels like a game for him and if he does well, he could well cement his place in the starting eleven.

Delibrations with Thohir take place over a failing Skype for Business account. Thohir mistakely agrees for the game to be played tomorrow as he's skint after funding bargain bucket transfers this January window and needs to save on the petrol.

We lose the replay tomorrow lunchtime 3-0 after Cumming is sent off for violent misconduct against Sam Long who took the double bed in the Travelodge family room they had to share tonight.

I think you've misunderstood the OSA, someone posting their bet is unlikely to fall foul of it.

However, on the point around betting posts on the forum, we will look into things we can do (maybe overlaying a warning that has to be clicked to see it).

Having read the form guide, observed Burnley’s outstanding defensive record, our strikers drought and consulted the old mad woman at the bus stop I can confidently assert that tonight’s game of association football will result in a Mark Harris hattrick and a 3-1 win for the boys in yellow.

We also owe James Trafford (Burnley goalie) one, from when he was playing for Bolton, when re ran out of his goal, pole axed Kyle Joseph, extremely dangerous challenge and denying us a goal scoring opportunity, for him to only get a yellow.
 
No more talk of betting slips, they do not fall under the OSA.

If we ban betting slips/talk then we should also ban alcohol pictures/talk.
 
Interesting shake up to the selection and goes with what a lot of us said post match on Saturday. I’m all for it and backs up Rowett’s dissatisfaction with Saturday to make 4 changes.

Genuinely think we can get something today with the wind behind us. Plenty on the bench if it doesn’t go to plan.
