Cumming
Kioso Helik Brown Leigh
Vaulks Brannagan
Placheta Matos Dembele
Romeny

Or possibly go 5-3-2, as I think our best chance of scoring will come from a set piece.

I don’t hate your 5-3-2 idea

Though I would play Placheta and Harris up top for work rate and pace on the counter, and Ter Avest at RWB with Kioso RCB

I'm travelling up from Whitstable for this tomorrow, going with my dad and seeing a couple of friends there.

COYY.

That's what happens when people have the "little old Oxford" mentality and are told it's a free hit!

PS: I'm one of the 337 before anyone piles on.
I thoroughly concur of the above post.

Five of us driving up tomorrow all taking time out from work and this car full atm equates to a 68th of the current away total take.

Imho this is disappointing, and I take my hat, scarf and gloves off to the other 332 who have most probably done much of the same.

COYY'S.

My in-laws are all Burnley fans, so this and the home game were the first things we looked for when the fixtures came out - but as soon as we checked the FA Cup dates we scrapped the ideas for a fun family weekend up north. Just can't make it on a school night either - shame, but always next year...

As for the game itself - I want to see Romeny start up top as a bit of a curveball and maybe give them something different to think about, and Goodhram or Matos as 10.

Well, I'm going. Not expecting much but it's a ground I've always wanted to visit. Will be 2am back home but I don't care as long as I see some fight and spirit from the team and manager. I could not hack another Sunderland or Sheffield United - those two performances were little short of disgraceful in terms of putting up a fight and digging in and the beginning of the end for Des.

Sadly the 'Hat"is not making it

The last U’s game of the 20th century - December 28th 1999

Burnley 3 ( Andy Payton hat-trick) Oxford U 2 ( Anthrobus, Whelan ).

Both teams had a Steve Davis featuring. Theirs was better than ours.

For some reason a Burnley fan was in the away end that day, celebrated loudly when they scored their first, and then tried fighting any steward who came near him. Took about ten of them to get him out iirc. Bizarre scenes.

I remember this. He was on my row. Was really odd.

Was on the "to do" list but the switch to midweek scuppered that.
Thick end of 3 hours up there is fine.
Getting back at 1 or 2 in the morning is for young folk.

I'm playing Matos and either Romeny/Bradshaw in place of RR & Harris. Otherwise as you were.

We know that Burnley can be shut down, so our best bet is to clog the middle, turn the game into a street fight and hope we can nick it with either a) a piece of brilliance from Dembele or Cheese, or b) a set piece

Their defense is absurd though, and precedence from this season would suggest that if you concede two goals to Burnley, you lose. So priority #1 is keep it tight.

Just popped out to the shops and 5 Live had a segment on Burnley. (I think I'm wrong here) but something like 0 goals conceded at home since December and plenty of 0-0 which we know of but by the sounds of it, the game will be as entertaining as a wet weekend in Southend during covid.

In the words of Jerome, I'd take a point.

No goals conceded anywhere in the league since December 21st. Eight clean sheets in a row.

But they've only scored eight goals themselves in those eight games - and five were against Plymouth.

It will be a game for enjoying the finer points of defensive organization!

What about a piece of cheese from a cheese set
