and if by magic the build up thread materialises 32.5 hours before the game kicks off

feeling were going to bring back all the spoils tomorrow night ( against the Burnley defensive form book) 1-2 win TG , and (at last) a (late) pen from Bran

No reason why we can't get at least a 0-0 draw at Burnley, 4 of their last 5 home games have ended 0-0.
They've had 8 home draws in total, 6 of which have been 0-0, 6 wins, but no defeats.

I'm going to stick my neck out and predict 0-0.

Cumming
Ter Avest Helik Brown Leigh
Matos Vaulks
Placeta brannagan Rodrigues Dembele

4-2-4 no striker needed

That team has enough to keep them out and hit on the counter 😁

Just for the craic... :D

Cumming
Long Thorniley Brown
Ter Avest Vaulks Brannegan Matos Goodrham
Helik Leigh

0-0

Three changes from Saturday for me:

Ter Avest for Kioso right back
Goodrham for Rodrigues at 10
Romeny for Harris at 9

I'd be surprised/disappointed if Harris and Rodrigues start.

337 away tickets sold.

Thought we might of took a few more than that considering our form.
At £35 adult £28 concessions prices 337 is not too bad for a Tuesday night match on Sky Sports +

if pay on the day is available there are a fair few exiles in the Midlands ,,north west and further north too- might scrape close to 500

The last U’s game of the 20th century - December 28th 1999

Burnley 3 ( Andy Payton hat-trick) Oxford U 2 ( Anthrobus, Whelan ).

Both teams had a Steve Davis featuring. Theirs was better than ours.

Just signed Marcus Edwards from Sporting Lisbon in addition to Jonjo Shelvey, Ashley Barnes and Oliver Sonne in this window alone.
Small club, big club, minted club, poor club, however you see Oxford United at this moment in time, it's fair to say that this will be a challenging evening.

James Trafford, Maxine Esteve and CJ Egan-Riley - I doubt that there has been a better defensive triangle at this level for many, many years.

I think we should play Greg L at centre forward!!! He's our leading scorer and knows where the goal is !!! Ron Saunders back in the day converted John Shuker to a centre forward and his goals saved us from relegation !!!!

Kioso Helik Brown Leigh
Vaulks Brannagan
Placheta Matos Dembele
Romeny

Or possibly go 5-3-2, as I think our best chance of scoring will come from a set piece.

I don’t hate your 5-3-2 idea

Though I would play Placheta and Harris up top for work rate and pace on the counter, and Ter Avest at RWB with Kioso RCB

I'm travelling up from Whitstable for this tomorrow, going with my dad and seeing a couple of friends there.

COYY.

That's what happens when people have the "little old Oxford" mentality and are told it's a free hit!

PS: I'm one of the 337 before anyone piles on.
I thoroughly concur of the above post.

Five of us driving up tomorrow all taking time out from work and this car full atm equates to a 68th of the current away total take.

Imho this is disappointing, and I take my hat, scarf and gloves off to the other 332 who have most probably done much of the same.

COYY'S.

My in-laws are all Burnley fans, so this and the home game were the first things we looked for when the fixtures came out - but as soon as we checked the FA Cup dates we scrapped the ideas for a fun family weekend up north. Just can't make it on a school night either - shame, but always next year...

As for the game itself - I want to see Romeny start up top as a bit of a curveball and maybe give them something different to think about, and Goodhram or Matos as 10.

Well, I'm going. Not expecting much but it's a ground I've always wanted to visit. Will be 2am back home but I don't care as long as I see some fight and spirit from the team and manager. I could not hack another Sunderland or Sheffield United - those two performances were little short of disgraceful in terms of putting up a fight and digging in and the beginning of the end for Des.
