The final time!

Please note this data is provided externally, so didn’t update the late change of Elliot Moore for Ben Nelson

I have no problems with muted goal celebrations. I still remember Lee Steele and the other b@stard Leyton Orient players rubbing our noses in the dirt in 2006.
I remember Lee Steele coming towards the East Stand at the end of the match expecting some sort of acclaim as a former player and getting quite the opposite - read the room Lee......

What. A. Day.

I've been following OUFC on the road for nearly 30 years and that was the best away atmosphere I've even been a part of. Just phenomenal.

And a perfect way to end a season that has been the most enjoyable for me - ever. Sure, we've had promotions and Wembley wins and plenty of individual games or moments in that time - but, for me, never such a consistently enthralling season as this.

So fitting that it ended with what was the best day out of the season - and a thoroughly deserved point.

Just fantastic.

Oh, and I reckon I'll be singing "Championship again" all f*cking Summer too - can't shift it, still bouncing.

Up the f*cking Championship Ox.

When Swansea announced a sell-out of 19,600 in that stadium, I was shocked, I genuinely thought there were about 25,000 in the ground. It really showed me what 16,000 could be like - just knock off the last two rows around the ground and there you go - a wonderful atmosphere - bring on The Triangle.
I was more shocked they announced a sell-out given how many empty seats there were, especially to the right of the segregation netting at our end. And then noticeable clumps in the home end behind the goal.

I’ve loved this season, absolutely loved it. 41 games home and away and enjoyed them all in a weird way. It’s been a tough watch on the road at times and I feel a bit deprived that of the five away games I’ve missed, two were Millwall and Sheffield Wednesday ! A real feeling of belonging at the top end of English football rather than being an also ran club forgotten about in the lower leagues. The stadiums we’ve visited have been fantastic, stadiums you see rising in the distance as you approach, proper stadia. Not the poxy little grounds that you only notice when you’re on top of them. Even queueing is tolerable, you just realise it’s all part and parcel of a proper event.

Looking forward to the break from football for a bit but will enjoy the play offs etc basking in the knowledge that we will be doing it all again next season. Once you’ve experienced Championship football going back to L1 - albeit a decent enough league - just seems so small time. Momentum is massive and right now we are riding the crest of a wave. Next season we just know is going to be a similar rollercoaster but with Rowett now well ensconced in the job I feel confident that we can become an established championship club - and that fabled top 30 one that we aspire to be.
