Swansea fan here, just wanted to come on to say superb support from you for your team today, Da Iawn. Sure I heard a “1986” song at some point and funnily enough still remember celebrating Jeremy Charles scoring that 3rd goal for you all them years ago. Anyway, good luck for next year and please thank Cameron Brannigan for that screamer 2 weeks ago. STID x

It was an absolute pleasure. I think Cam Bran enjoyed it too! See you next season.

Yep that's exactly what happened. It was just unfortunate that a chant was in full swing when the announcement began.

A few of us shushed the singers when it was obvious what was happening and it was pretty much exclusively met with instantly stopping the singing.

Meanwhile, on the pitch, it was a funny old game wasn't it. They were generally better with the ball and shifted us out of shape, particularly in the first half. We were much better in the second half and showed more attacking intent. The subs did well.

Good to see Ter Avest get on the overlap and put in some good crosses. Perhaps we can go and get Carlton Morris or someone of his ilk now, which would make this approach very effective. I thought Greg Leigh was superb, apart perhaps for Ronald's goal. Love the bloke.
Romeny will be a very good player for us in time, needs to understand the physical demands of the English game.

Matt Ingram showed why he hasn't played a league game this season.

Very interesting summer coming up. Bring it on!

On Greg Leigh, he was generally very good. The finish was fantastic technique for his goal. But Ronald did get behind him more than just for the goal in the 2nd half.

Was the other Swansea forward offside for Ronald's goal? It certainly looked like it, he definitely went for the ball getting very near and made Ingram check his movement as a result so interfering.

Harsh on Ingram. First game in ages, pulled off a very good save from close range in the 2nd half as he was well positioned. Their first goal, a good finish but maybe he was a little far off the line; 2nd goal, not sure what else he could have done and the 3rd was the outfield players not picking up Cullen.

Not at fault for any of the goals IMO.

It’s got definite end of term vibes about this one.

I’m hoping for an end of term style shoreline. A rollercoaster 3-3 that we can all enjoy or similar.

Amazing that we could finish anywhere between 21st and 14th today (I think - I’ll let others work out the permutations!).

Nostradamus posts on this forum.

After the first trip to Wales resulted in me believing there was some kind of conspiracy against us, today's trip couldn't have been more opposite.

If you could have written an ideal last day for us in our first Champs season in a while, that was pretty much it. A win maybe, but to be honest, I'll take some promising play, beautiful weather, great chat and atmos amongst fans, 6 goals, a great stadium.

No complaints from me. Looking forward to next season and the transfer chat on here in the meantime.

Repeating what everyone else has been saying, a wonderful final day. What a treat that was. Some other observations:
  • Thought that was a really promising show from Mills. Looked a little out of match practice, but showed some neat touches and movement. Get him a full preseason and I think he could be big for us next year.
  • Romeny I find such a weird footballer. He does one or two things a game that are a class above and buzzes about a lot but doesn’t seem to ever actually affect the game. I think in a better setting attacking players he’ll look exponentially better. His touch through to Rodrigues for that early chance looked gorgeous from the away end.
  • Best game in a while on the ball from Tyler. Looks to be getting back to his best.
  • Brannagan in these last few essential weeks of the season has been ridiculous. He’s getting better and better. Some of his pings out to Mills were sublime and I loved how he got in a little scrap with the Swansea #8 in that first half. So indicative of his character that he’s getting that wound up in the dictionary definition of a dead rubber party.
  • That Ronald for them I thought looked dangerous at ours and was good again today. Caught the eye, good player.
  • Swansea fans up there with Pompey for the best home end I’ve heard in this league. That corner to the left of us was deafening at times. Fair play.
What a wonderful season. It’s exceeded every expectation I had. Can’t wait for the next.

Forgot to mention that in my last post. What a lovely stadium, and conducive to a cracking atmosphere.

I came away from there feeling it was more important than ever that we get that new stadium built and finally have a home befitting of our place in the football league.

Brilliant day brilliant atmosphere. Nice ground. Roll on the transfer window and fixture release day on June 26th.

Excellent day today. What a game. The atmosphere was utterly superb.
Great ground but our fans were incredible.
Never prouder than when heading back to the town centre and Swansea fans were congratulating us for being the best and loudest set of fans to visit the Liberty this season.
Great season. Seen off in style.

Yesterday was amazing great football entertaining and enjoyable game

Nice stadium hopefully the triangle will be similar to that

I have a little gripe the food was shite the beer not much better and the staff serving looked like they had just woke up ( I had to go through gate 37 ) other than that happy days

Possibly the best end of season game since er.. last season.

Following OUFC offers the best bang for buck for any team in the country.

Underdogs, gritty, fighters, skillful, exotic playing squad , passionate support, wily management. Without a centre forward.

Think we are a coming force in the game. And everything swings around early June.

Just seen official match report says 2,006 Oxford fans yesterday.

But we sold out the final allocation of 2,617. Was quite a clump of empty seats around us and saw a lot of tickets being made available via twitter etc.

But surely around 600 people didn't decide to not go in the end?!

I thought Placheta’s muted goal celebration was a bit stupid. This isn’t a player who gets 25 a season and can ‘afford’ to hold back on a celebration or two. Instead this is a player who hasn’t been able to hit a barn door for close on 5 months so what’s he doing trying to be all cool and respectful towards Swansea - he only played a few games for them. I will never understand footballers who do this, he owes Swansea nothing. He owes us everything though after being bang average this year.

Don't care either way as the main thing was he put the ball in the net to get the draw.

Yeah I did roll my eyes when he refused to celebrate. Made 10 appearances for them off the bench 🥱

I have no problems with muted goal celebrations. I still remember Lee Steele and the other b@stard Leyton Orient players rubbing our noses in the dirt in 2006.
