Interesting comments from Rowett on the OM website this morning.

“We’ve got one more game to finish it off. There’ll be players that haven’t played for a while, and it’ll be important that they get the right preparation.

“We’ll get the right preparation and try and finish the season off with another win if we can, but the reality is the last game doesn’t really matter too much to us, and I think it’s a nice position to be in.”

Sounds to me like plenty of changes and fresh faces.

The one thing that I need to point out is the turnstiles at the Swansea.com stadium are really narrow. So bear this in mind one choosing your outfit and accessories. Also a big display of the ‘Swim Away!’ Swim Away!’ Aimed at Cardiff as they get sunk to League One would be bloody marvellous. 🤣

An example of the small turnstiles. There is disabled access entrances, but I don’t know if they would let you through those?

I predict the team is:

Ingram
Kioso Moore Thorniley Bennett
El Mizouni McEachran
Mills Rodrigues Goodrham
Romeny

Marselino on the bench, plus some others.

Maybe Harris starts instead of Rodrigues and then Romeny drops back. Really depends on who has drunk more alcohol out of Harris and Rodrigues since Saturday afternoon.

I have 1 spare adult and one young adult available. Let me know if you would like them. £28 and £12.50.

Pretty sure there’ll be other reasons but I’m genuinely interested if securing our league status and this game being a ‘dead rubber’ is the reason why so many are selling their tickets.
I've gone back in time by perusing the Rageonline archives and looking up some old match reports and final league tables.

At first, I thought our last dead rubber away game was Luton on 4th May 2019, but then I realised it takes two teams to make a rubber dead: Luton were going for the title that day and we'd have absolutely loved to have ruined their party (we didn't, although their party seemed to consist of invading the pitch purely to goad the away end). The two previous away games that season were against two relegation threatened teams, Walsall and Shrewsbury and we'd still have mathematically been in the play off race before that.

The season before, we played Blackburn on the final day, but they were going for the title (they won but so did Wigan). So, I think (and I'm sure someone can correct me if we weren't both safe from relegation at the time) our last truly dead rubber away match was at Doncaster Rovers on 21st April 2018.

My point is away days when the weather is as important as the result don't come around very often. Saturday is going to be a fantastic celebration in the sunshine, f**k selling my ticket.

Look at everyone jumping ship now that safety is secured. Just get to the game anyway and support the team and show them your love for another year in the Championship. If you were able to go when something was riding on it, you're still able to go, bloody lightweights
My daughter has a birthday party, that I found out about on Monday, sadly.

I would still love to go but there's no way around it with her mother away in Belfast on a hen do.

Is that the James Henry header match?
If so, I'm pretty sure we weren't safe going into that game.
That win put us 6 clear with two to go.

Really looking forward to this game

Going to be a celebration on the away terrace of a brilliant achievement in staying up this season.

I will be going as a full kit w and am happy to give one of the lads a rest for the last 10 mins 🤣

Enjoy! Hopefully a positive result/performance to send us into the summer with optimism.

No offence, but if you’re offering to do the past 10 minutes, I think we need to check the availability of a defribrillator.
