'Leicester will keep Rowett who will win the league' might be one of the most insane things I've ever read on this forum

Apart from the football a decent day out

Amongst all the knee jerk posts on here today, this post has really tickled me. Thank you.

While it seems that Bloomfield sounds like a nice guy, I honestly don’t believe he has the bojangles to get us sorted out for next season.
We can do so much better.
Tactically, he is not clued up.
Reading the game? he doesn’t.
Oh yes, in interviews he says all the right things but when things need sorting out.
He ain’t got it.

My spies tell me that Stan didn't come over and greet the fans at the end - can anyone else corroborate that?
He was put on the naughty step by Bloomers after Barry Bannan, 36 teased and tormented him two minutes after the break
How many times have we conceded this type of goal at this level?

Some decent play and a simple overload behind the full-back, a cross and a tap in.

It happened at Southampton and Portsmouth’s second equaliser was a replica goal. Not good enough to stop it.

One thing is for sure about next season: we’re going to have to buy some players who have an idea about how to actually attack the opposition. We are annoyingly clueless in this department sometimes and it’s been a depressing season travelling all around the country watching us sit back, defend then concede with little chance of getting back into the game.

I watch the highlights from leagues one and two (yes; I know they’re highlights) and see some sparkling attacking play and fabulous goals. I hope we can match it next year …. or it’s a season on mid-table nothingness ahead.

Bloomfield (for it will be him) has to revert to his attacking playbook and abandon the let’s-not-get-whopped-by-a-better-team mentality.
I think our fans -and particularly those I meet following us to numerous away games- deserve it.

Looking back at extended highlights most people think Bannan ran the midfield which he did. However because of the pressure Milwall put on us at the back all we could do was hoof it into their half
Their defenders then gave Bannan the ball in acres of space. Not sure Konak going off had anything to do with this but one thing is clear if you have no outlets and sit back good midfield players will hurt you

Beer match for us. Not for them. They are also a high quality team. Bannon amazes me. Will he still be going in the 2030s?

Points arising:

Spencer best player at the club. We’ve got to keep him.

Donley is not going to have a golden future. Embarrassing performance.

Woo showed a bit. Certainly more than Mills ( who’s ball control is terrible), but whose other attributes will get him a move to the Championship in the close season if body language is anything ti go by.

Ter Avest strolled through the game and kept losing possession. . He’s off as well - hopefully.

Cumming as solid as ever- please stay.

Bloomfield. I was not convinced by his pre match interview. Unconfident. Reckon he got an owner rocket last weekend. And been given a target . Play off positions by Christmas or you get the late December phone call. (Management have a speciality in that sort of timing.)

Support was good enough although the amount of slagging Harris gets - generally from the younger element of supporters is appalling . Tedious song about going to Bromley too.

Pleased to be having a rest . But we’ll go again.

And "we're s**t and we know we are", absolutely pathetic, just fvck off. And who thinks "we're going to Bromley, you're going. to spurs" was amusing?
Completely agree on the “we’re s**t and we know we are” pointless and witless.

The we’re going to Bromley, you’re going to spurs chant - completely disagree with. A) it is amusing, B) it manages to take the p**s out of spurs, Millwall for staying down, self deprecating on ourselves and mocking the size of Bromley.
If your already relegated and playing pretty crap, if you can’t have a bit of a laugh at yourself whilst also laughing at the team your playing -don’t seethe issue

I largely agreed with your summary, but I'm still not seeing why Jamie gets the start week after week. We found him frustratingly slow getting the ball out yesterday - players would be sprinting up the pitch into nice wide spaces, miles away from their opposition counterpart, and Jamie would still be trying to decide what to do with the ball. Any time it was in his possession, the game just stopped.

I'd really like to see Ingram get a start or two early next season. He showed such an improvement at the MK Dons FA Cup game - his distribution is streets ahead of Jamie's, and his shot stopping was on a par.

I was saying the same thing yesterday, teams know they can press us high up the pitch safe in the knowledge that Cummings distribution is not good enough and he will concede back possession.
Appreciate there are bigger issues, but it most definitely is a problem that was emphasised yesterday

Ah, I see.

#teamslikebromley, eh

Waking up this morning actually feeling a sense of relief that the season is now over.

Looking forward to some R&R away from the football that really matters to recharge the batteries for a few months.

Enjoy your summer one and all, see you in L1

And as for Bromley a word of caution, never forget that Barrow 3-0 away on that Friday night. It is going to take time to adjust.

Yes agree I'd like to see a new keeper, way to slow on distribution, kicking shocking, corners & free kicks a bit too flappy . Quite a good stopper , but come on that's your job.
I'd like to see a goalie that's good all round....

They are in the premier league.

Careful what you wish for with goalkeepers. Remember the last season of Stevens and Eastwood? It’s not a position to mess about with because you’re bored. JC is a very effective GK in the main. Not his best right now, but I think that coincides with the general slide in standards this year and a movement towards long, hopeful football that’s exposed him as a kicker but also in having to do too much as a goalkeeper as the ball just come back in seconds.

His best days were under Manning at MK and Des with us. Passing no more than 10/15 yards and otherwise he was a goalkeeper.

You don’t need to change the personnel to solve the problem. I too was seething when he tepidly sliced the kick off out on half way yesterday - what a way to start an away game. But he’s not the one to be angry at - he does it all the time - so why keep asking him to do it?? 2 managers over 16 months haven’t spotted that he’s inconsistent with his ball striking and do it anyway.

We need to return to shot build up with JC. He’s comfortable with that and it prevents these little dents in confidence he will get each time he fires the ball out for a throw.

Whether Bloomfield can play to anybody’s strengths remains to be seen, because in the 4 months he’s been here I sure haven’t seen it.

Yes agreed, I would like a new goalkeeper that's either going to push him or be No1.Its obvious Ingram is not going to feature regularly.
Maybe that's a problem??? Too comfortable 🤷🏼‍♂️
The goal keeper is very important, the whole spine of the team should be. From centre back, midfield & striker. Add a couple of fast wingers that can cross & score as well, & bingo🤔😉😂

Agree with all of that but Vaulks must not and cannot escape criticism - 600th appearance - notwithstanding.
He was giving the ball away for fun for long parts of the first half.

The midfield has been woeful for a huge part of the season and was for me the main cause of the club getting relegated across the piece.

Thank god it’s over.

Unpopular opinion - I look forward to us beating Burton in front of 8,500 than us losing game after game in the Championship.

Let’s not kid ourselves. Rowettball, no midfield for much of the season, Mark Harris as our #9/second striker, foreign imports who haven’t added much (JJW, Prelec, Krastev), 30% or less possession and seeing game after game where we’ve lost by the ‘odd goal’ but never ever looked like getting anything out of it.

Good riddance. Let’s get back to a level where we can compete again.
Can’t stand these sort of posts 🤮

Much like the players performance, I simply couldn’t be bothered to post yesterday.

What a cracking day out, apart from the football.

We were second to everything, to a point that can be forgiven, as clearly there was far more on the game for Millwall than for us. It’s natural. That said, we were feeble.

All this talk from inside the club about how much the team ‘care’ and our demise is not for a lack of trying. Well blow me down with a feather, if yesterday is what trying looks like! Emakhu might as well of worn a blue shirt and Donley, well don’t even get me started on him. £4,000,000 but out? Jesus wept I’d not pay £400,000!

Changes need to happen, more than the budget will probably allow. But as a starter we need starting 11 replacements for the following come August:

Ball playing CB
Midfielder in the mould of Konak
Left winger
‘10’
CF

We have rolled over on far too many occasions away from home without really hurting the home teams. Should it be Bloomfield that takes us forward, he needs to find a way of us going from plucky underdogs to front foot enforces in games.

I’m not having Bloomfield at all. He had an opportunity yesterday to really throw down a marker and show the 2000+ travelling supporters what we can expect next year. He didn’t. It was more of the same that has culminated in a feeble end to the season.

If someone can tell me what our identity is on the pitch, I’d be grateful. Despite travelling up and down the country every week to support him and the team, I’m yet to see what the plan is under MB.
I understand that he may get the window and the first half of next season, but it’s a risk. His record suggests that it’s a risk, too. He’s becoming quite the specialist in ultimate failures.

4 go down from league 1. If he’s the gaffer, the first objective should be 50 points.
