Away Match Thread 02/05/2026: Millwall v Oxford United

Seen a few tickets miraculously become available today on X and Facebook…If people give up their tickets for next weekend, simply because they can’t now be arsed to go rather than an actual reason, then I sincerely hope they don’t bother ever coming back!

Supporting OUFC will always yield ups and downs. More downs than ups if you exclude the last 20 years! But the constant is our terrific supporters, many of whom have become friends and ‘faces’ due to their unwavering support over many years.

It might be another 25 years before we get another crack at a Championship fixture, so we might as well go and enjoy our final one for now, and demonstrate to the wider football fraternity just what makes OUFC so special.

That for me is the togetherness in the tough days and when our back is against the wall (literally next week!). It will be so disappointing if there are swathes of empty seats in the away end , simply because people cannot be arsed to go and back the team following yesterday’s disappointment. That isn’t the way Oxford folk support the our football club.

I am looking forward to it, if we are going down, then that’s have a party. Day out in London, football and beers with your mates, one day I will be to old for that but it will be nice to have the memories.

Day out in London, last game of the season and being party poopers........whats not to like*?

*Barring the stupid kick off time.... :)

Don’t even mind that, although I am only a 35 minute train ride to Waterloo so it’s not exactly a big inconvenience for me, gives plenty of time afterwards for drinking in London.

Looks like the day trippers are getting rid of tickets and are being quickly snapped up by the real fans .
Looking forward to our final championship game of the season
WE WILL BE BACK
Surely the real fans would already have tickets?

Well I'm a real fan and I didn't get a ticket I guess all
These fans that jumped on the championship bandwagon got there before me
A real fan would’ve been in the queue 15 minutes before they went on sale to make sure they got a ticket for what was potentially the most important game of the season, which is exactly what I did

On an unrelated note, Im not going to the match anymore so I’m selling my ticket face value anyone that wants it

I'm not a day tripper so I wasn't in the queue never mind eh ..., as for you not going anymore what a s**t fan you are

There is a difference between paying £36
For a ticket to stay up that £36 for a game that means nothing
Really I'm confused you brought a ticket knowing realistically we would be relegated by the time the game is played and now you can't be arsed to go

This is an interesting one. What is the exchange rate for a meaningful game compared to just a normal game? Is it better than the Euro or the dollar?
So for example £36 for a game that means something really is worth maybe £30 for a game with nothing riding on it?
Where do we stand when it comes to the game being a dead rubber for us but not for Millwall?

I'd be keen to know the answer just so I can ask for a refund on my ST for yesterday's game since it didn't mean anything to either side.

To be fair to people not going, if you were just going for the game and not as part of a day out then it’s probably now not very attractive, £36 towards next seasons season ticket I suppose. Not every one is a big day out in London type of person.

Not me though, still looking forward to it.

I've just bought one as was too late before. Might mean nothing to you but means everything to me - to watch the boys finish the season. Imagine being a player and no one turns up.
Redditch away in a friendly, Carlisle away on a Tuesday, Villa in a semi final or Millwall already relegated.
Sorry it means nothing to you one day I hope you feel like me.

We'll be there.

I feel more devastated that there won't be any football for a couple of months than I do that the football when we return will be League One.

I wonder how many of those “real fans” will be supporting Millwall 😱
Don't understand, why would any Oxford fan support Millwall (or have I missed something?)

World Cup ?

Been looking forward to Millwall away ever since the fixtures came out, one of my favourite away days, no way my ticket being returned
