Away Match Day Thread +++ 02/04/2018 Shrewsbury T v OUFC Match Day Thread +++

Oldham winning. f**k.

Regardless of how today finishes, Saturday is absolutely massive for us. It could hopefully see us gain a little confidence, some momentum and 3 priceless points, or we could slip closer to relegation.

It’s a f#cking cup final. We need to go in numbers and give all the support we can - with flags, banners and the ultras all giving it their all. Win it and things look so much better. I hope the club do a massive promotion on this game.

Fleetwood pretty much safe now. Started winning at wrong time for us.

Saturday is crucial can't take less then 3 points otherwise we're 1 point above.

Why we don't play our first halves like our second halves I don't know. It's ridiculous that we have to be a goal down before we start playing football.

Looking at the fixtures, Wimbledon have some tough games to play. Their away game today being postponed, and also
walsalls, could be important. It’s horrible when you don’t play, it heaps the pressure on. They both could be in big trouble.

Saturday is our biggest game since Wycombe home 23 months ago. It’s not a game for moaning but one to get behind the team noisily. We ain’t that good but that’s a problem that can be solved in the summer, the next 3 home games will probably be horrible, but this side is what we have now so need to get behind them and get on the refs back.

Today was always unlikely, least we showed a bit of fight, we ain’t going to beat or draw against Wigan or Blackburn but the rest of our fixtures ain’t to bad, just need to get 5 or 6 points from the games against Oldham, Fleetwood, Southend, Doncaster and Rochdale, four of those are at home so we deserve to go down if we can’t pick up at least 5 points.

Oldham next week now crucial. MK look to have a tough run-in.

Don't really see that. MK Dons would have been expected to lose to Blackburn, despite the home side's good recent run. The most important result, apart from our defeat, was Oldham 2 Blackpool 1, particularly given next Saturday's fixture.
Not really the end of the world, it keeps Blackpool in the mire. The more teams round us still in trouble the better.

A definite must win on Saturday nothing less not a point but Three is a minimum and can’t wait to see what our defence will be next season

KR needs to drum into the players that we went to one of the three best teams in the division and scored two goals in a narrow defeat. It’s all about getting confidence up as high as possible. Build on the positives

‘We just need to ...’ ‘If we could just ...’ ‘But if we beat ...’

All well and good. We’ve now got to actually do it.

Blackburn and Wigan are write offs. The others are the targets.

Poor Karl - he can now see the real depth of the problems he has inherited. Will he bite the bullitt & drop our captain? Mousinho has been absolutely woeful for ages - hearts are in mouths everytime he has the ball. We cannot "magic" new players so I agree we have to get behind what we have - but time for KR to change the central defence.

Thing is there are still 4/5 other clubs saying the exact same thing, a results today was as unlikely as one against Wigan or Blackburn. We still have it in our own hands, we starting to show a lot more fight under kr. We just need to turn that into 2 wins from 4 winnable games. If we can’t do that we don’t deserve to stay up. But even then could be ok dependant on others. Not that my nerves could take a trip to Blackburn depending on other results
