    Great day to be an Oxford fan. Well done, lads!

    Elliott seemed to hear the call from the side of the pitch clearly enough at Wembley!

    Home Match Day Thread 28/11/2020 L1 OUFC v Swindon Town

    Can anyone explain to me why we have so many players who cannot perform for more than half a game? We do not exactly play at a high tempo. Add to that the frequent number of injuries in the squad, even excluding the usual sicknotes. Could there be any link to the weird pre-season training we...

    Home Match Day Thread 3/10/20 L1 - OUFC v Crewe Alexandra

    According to The Oxford Mail, and in red lettering just in case we missed it, "United only discovered the issue after the visitors arrived at The Kassam stadium".

    Home Match Day Thread 3/10/20 L1 - OUFC v Crewe Alexandra

    Surely the only relevant questions are: Why did Beckles chose to not self isolate until he got his test results? Why did Crewe bring their team to the Kassam when they were aware one of their players had been tested positive?

    Ref Watch +++ 13/07/20 L1 Play Off FINAL - OUFC v Wycombe+++

    The difference between the two managers during the final drinks' break was interesting. Ainsworth, throwing his arms about, pumping up his players. Robinson, much more relaxed. Didn't spot him giving anyone instructions.

    Ref Watch +++ 13/07/20 L1 Play Off FINAL - OUFC v Wycombe+++

    If Moore did fall for that trick, he sounds a bit like Gordon Jackson's character in The Great Escape, succumbing to the dark arts of the Nazis. Surely the players should have been made savvy on how to seek an unfair advantage in an empty stadium? But is there any proof it happened? Has it been...

    Ref Watch +++ 13/07/20 L1 Play Off FINAL - OUFC v Wycombe+++

    Depends on how bad one has to be before one can be described as 'not turning up', I suppose. Still thought second half we played better than the two performances against Pompey albeit unfortunately toothless up front. All right, first half below the 'not turning up' line.

    Still shell shocked from last night but I do recall some of your fans congratulating me after the game we beat you in to win promotion a few years back. So congratulations to you guys. I hope you enjoy your stay in the Championship.

    Ref Watch +++ 13/07/20 L1 Play Off FINAL - OUFC v Wycombe+++

    Not sure I agree with those who say we didn't turn up last night. For much of the second half we played better than in both semifinals. But too many players were still below par. The game was promoted as the clash of two styles. Unfortunately Wycombe were more proficient playing their style than...

    I always felt Pompey were going to score from a header. I was right.

    If I had to pick out the one man who got us to the final, I'd have to choose the guy who put the goal line technology in.

    +++ 03/07/20 L1 Play Off Semi Final: Leg 1 - Pompey v OUFC+++

    Been looking on the Pompey fans' forum. They seem more disappointed with their team's performance than we are with ours. They blame Jackett overall, saying he put out the wrong team. They think, or hope, he will start with a stronger team on Monday. In the League, Pompey have been good at home...

    Away Match Day Thread +++ 13/07/2019 PSF: Woking v OUFC MDT +++

    Terrible match! Tend to forget just how bad preseason friendlies can be, and this was up there with the worst of them. Not sure how players moving barely above walking pace, and hardly at all off the ball develops either fitness or tactics. This game just seemed to drag on forever. If it was a...

    Glasgow Rangers friendly

    Can't make it to Glasgow this week, but done pre-season in the past to Vienna, Dublin and, er, the likes of Yeading and Farnborough. Any real ale fans travelling north, I can recommend the Bon Accord in Glasgow, possibly the best in Scotland, and I've tried many! Enjoy!

    Away Match Day Thread +++ 04/05/2019 Luton Town v OUFC Match Day Thread +++

    Thought we had them rattled after Garbutt's goal. Shame we had to gift them the third. It could have been a very interesting last twenty minutes. Luton did look strong and attacked us with pace, but they were given extra help from the ref, especially in the first half.

    Away Match Day Thread +++ 9/3/19 Gillingham v OUFC Matchday Thread +++

    Two below average teams playing rather cautiously with neither keeper being tested. Unfortunately in the end, they could take a corner, attack the ball at the far post and find space in the centre. And we couldn't. Their goal was not unlike their equaliser last season, and round about the same...

    Need to build on the two wins with solid performances at Rochdale and Gillingham - definitely two six pointer games. If not, we'll be right back in the doggy doos!
