New Stadium Plans - The Triangle - Planning

I mentioned in my planning comment that the road was to be restricted rather than closed, since buses and bicycles would still be allowed along it. I should have mentioned it would still be open for the emergency services too. I also pointed out that even if the road was restricted for a total...

New Stadium Plans - The Triangle - Planning

I was confused by this objection: "If a new stadium were to be built in Oxfordshire, surely onsite parking would be an essential part of the planning. Most fans will not travel by public transport, instead they choose the much cheaper option of travelling by car and park on the nearest housing...

That means that 73% of all North Oxford residents are in favour. Brilliant news! I've just submitted my comments, I was waiting for some of the objections so I could indirectly counter them.

Away Match Day Thread 06/04/2024: L1 Burton Albion v OUFC

Just watched the game back. It was a decent performance, with Murphy being particularly good. He's reminiscent of Thierry Henry or Marcus Rashford in the way he plays, and his goal was very much in their vein. I have to say though that our defending from Burton's throw in which led to his goal...

I find it bizarre that there's no mention whatsoever of the transport of nuclear weapons along the Strategic Road Network.

Late goals for Bolton and Orient (and us if course) would do nicely. Is it Des or the players who keep making the same mistakes?

I'm sure we'll get going once Browne and Edwards are back in a few weeks.

Finally a decent cross! Goodwin might have got close to that.

Another dink over the top opens us up again. Thankfully the shot was also dinked over the top.

Away Match Day Thread 12/03/24 - L1: Bolton Wanderers v OUFC

That is the main difference for me. Bolton are tracking our midfield and forward players if and when they make a move so any ball to them is going to be a 50:50 at best. Then we pass it back and end up losing it in the same place we started passing it back from. Their players are making smarter...

That simple chipped ball over the defence is causing us so many problems. And how are we letting them have so much space in and around our box? It's like every player is doing their own thing.

To be fair it was a decent move and good finish, but a simple give and go opened up the space for them and they had the man extra on the far side. It's been pretty poor from us so far, Bolton are far more threatening and are pressing us tightly.

Been a while since we last won. Great feeling to get back.

Why don't we just play like this all the time?

    Ex-Staff Chris Williams Leaves

Good luck to him and them. They'll need to keep together at the end of the season if they're to bounce back up again next year. To think that they were very nearly just one division below us for this season!

    Ex-Staff Liam Manning

Is there a Des bingo? His main one seems to be "in that space". At least he has a bit of personality and is likeable even if it's been a struggle for him so far.

And just as I said that, Ipswich equalised again!

It would be so like an (ex) Oxford manager to beat two sides in the top 5 and lose to two sides in the bottom 5.
