Birmingham have Coventry at home on Saturday. That will be tasty.
Serves them right for sacking Eustace back in Sept/Oct when they were on edge of play offs.
Yes I've heard he is a decent chap away from touchline. At end of day Jamie Cook signed for him three times, once at Boston 2001 and then twice at Crawley 2007 & 2010 and Jamie Cook didn't seem to be the sort of guy to put up with bad people.
The one thing the ref did do correctly was, when subbed, ask Josh Murphy to leave the field of play at the nearest point which meant Josh had to walk all round the pitch, but it meant he was able to enjoy the applause from three sides of the ground. Even Burton fans were applauding him.
Paul, Colin ... thank you, two great reports there. They may be getting later & later but it is worth the wait.
There was a time when we simply couldn't beat Fleetwood, it was something like 12 games (most of those were losses) before we beat them, they were a real bogey team. But then we've...
I think you've "hit nail on head" there - yes he seems a normal, nice, likeable person ....... not sure those type of people make a good football manager!
Head injuries, I do fully appreciate the potential seriousness of such injuries, but the ref cannot stop play if a player is down with his hands close to his head. Yesterday ref stopped play when we were on the break, Shrewsbury player was down following a collision, tackle, whatever but it was...
I was going to give him a 7 but, in injury time the goalie was time wasting, so quite correctly the ref booked him, but to book him he walked 30 yards from the centre circle towards him, showed him the yellow card and walked 30 yards back. This in itself is wasting time which did NOT get added...
Notts Co 1 (Daniel Crowley) Salford 1 (Conor McAleny)
Luke Garbutt has been subbed off.
Jodi Jones & Sam Slocombe playing for Notts.
Richard Brindley (I think he might have played for us?) is sub.
Yep, I can remember that game as well, seemed to confirm we deserve to go up as Champions.
Even though it was 39 years ago I could name the line up, whereas one year ago Morecambe away (see above) I would probably only guess half the players.
I think this was one of those games that signaled the start of the end of a managers reign, similar to:-
Mark Wright 2001 Orient 0-3
Jim Smith 2007 Droylsden 1-3 & Rushden Diamonds 0-5 (Ouch - that was a shocker). Both of these were on TV
Pep Clotet 2017 Wigan 0-7
I was going to give him a 7 because everything seemed to be ticking over OK, did nothing really wrong but then there was the blatant body check on Murphy on North Stand touchline. To me it looked cynical foul, no attempt to get the ball and it prevented an attack. It should also have been a...
Yes Droylsdon, that was shockingly, atrociously, very, very bad. Losing 1-3 at Droylsdon were bottom of table, hadn't won in 10 or something and and I'm sure we played with about 5 centre halfs.
