    LGBTQ+ / Rainbow Laces

Of course you can. Others are allowed to support the club AND be a minority, but you can just go about your day wistfully believing these things don’t happen and be entirely unaffected by it. The club sponsoring pride doesn’t stop you or change how you support in any way. I’m yet to see you...

    LGBTQ+ / Rainbow Laces

I, like a lot of people, don't go to Truck Fest, I don't particularly enjoy the music that's played at Truck Fest. I don't think the club posting about supporting the even is in anyway divisive or exclusionary though just because it's not for me. I'm not sure where the idea that support a major...

    Manager/Coach Des Buckingham

The idea that this reflects badly on anything other than the players themselves and the culture at the club that needs changing is laughable. Des may or may not be out of his depth, but this reflects (if it's true and that's taking it with a big pitch of salt) a much bigger problem that needs...

    General Niall McWilliams

This seems pretty pertinent to me. People seem very focused on “did he jump or was he pushed”, it’s as if no one has every stopped enjoying a job they previously loved because they don’t like or trust the people around/above them.

    Ex-Staff Chris Williams Leaves

Not to go all conspiracy theory, but it wouldn’t surprise me if all club communications sat under marketing from now on. Great opportunity for the head of marketing to make themselves more important and have less heads of other departments question them in front of the board.

    Ex-Staff Chris Williams Leaves

Social media hasn’t been classed as “communications/media” for a while. Sits under marketing now

General Tim Williams Vote of Confidence

This season? Just those publicly known about; Head of Finance, Head of Performance, Head of Communications, Andy Canton, and there’s probably a few more in less high profile/public roles too (understand a number of the accounts dept left around the time TD did). Oh and the Manager, Assistant...

    General Offensive Chanting

I think you're kind of right that that's what people want it to mean. Same as being Politically Correct, which again, there is nothing wrong with per se. That said, someone on Twitter described the new stadium as "woke" the other day, so I'm not sure everyone's version of "goes to an extreme" is...

General The Board & Senior Management

What happened with Karl was absolutely nothing like what Morgan was doing to a child directly in his care and to compare the two belittles the seriousness of what happen at Leicester City and the lack of safeguarding they had in place for their players.

Manager/Coach Life After Manning - New Manager Search

"Mumbai City FC head coach Des Buckingham has joined English third division side Oxford United, Sportstar can confirm. He will take over from Craig Short, who has been the caretaker manager of Oxford since February 2023." They've completely erased Manning's spell in that article!

General BBC Oxford South Today ended + radio changes

People can’t proudly state they don’t pay the license fee and then complain that regional/fringe services are being cut. That’s like voting for the Tories and then complaining about NHS waiting times…

    OUFC Women: 2023/24 Season Build-Up

The players are part time now since relegation. Don’t believe the staff are, which is the case at a lot of Championship clubs as well as clubs at tier 3 (although not Oxford). Another club in the WNL, Chatham, lost their manager to become Liam’s assistant ant Reading also report it was “a full...

    Tickets Season Tickets 2023/24

Just what I have heard. Graphics have always been made by another company (understandably, we don’t have a design department), but for sure something seems to have changed this year as I can’t believe this is the same work as that done in previous years.

Sadly the photography & graphics are by “professionals” and well paid (external) ones at that! Baffling

    OUFC Women: 2023/24 Season Build-Up

I mean. It’s a chance to work full time in football (players maybe part time, but his role doesn’t seem to be), as apposed to working a full time job and doing football in the evenings/weekends. And a free hit as a position given no one expects them to bounce back straight away. Hard to pass up...

30/8/2022 Papa Johns Trophy OUFC v Leyton Orient.

Women are at home at Court Place Farm on the same night. I'll be maintaining my protest while supporting the club over at that game instead tomorrow. Shame as I'd like to see a few more of the younger players get minutes, but I still can't bring myself to stomach this competition.
