Home Match Build Up 03/02/2024 L1: OUFC v Reading

I’m no dot counter but including reading’s allocation have we not already hit that? Would be very disappointing if it’s not a sell out to be honest, let alone 10k?

Home Match Day Thread 30/01/2024 L1: OUFC v Portsmouth

🫤 So you think we will win 2-1, which would put us just 7 points behind Portsmouth with a game in hand... Yet you say you want Portsmouth to cement their place at the top of the league?

    National News Nottingham Stabbings

Yeah I think it’s ridiculous and an insult to the families affected

    National News Nottingham Stabbings

Mr Justice Turner says Calocane was "substantially impaired" by mental illness. I’d argue that anyone who kills 3 people has a ‘mental illness’, but does that mean all murderers (which he is by the way) should go to a high security hospital rather than prison? Not in my mind

Home Match Build Up 20/01/2024 L1: OUFC vs Northampton Town

I think that’s looking at it quite pessimistically. Maybe you need to get a new coin? 😄

Away Match Day Thread 12/12/2023 L1: Reading v OUFC

Started work early so I could finish early today. Can’t wait to make my way over to Paddington for the train there. Anyone know what the best pub will be? As someone from South Oxfordshire I agree with @LostMarbles earlier post as I hated seeing Reading shirts popping up in Abingdon and Oxford...

Matches BSM Trophy Last 16: Away to Pompey/Wimbledon.

I think from the last 16 onwards, every player from each team contests a 90’s MLS style penalty shootout to determine the winner. The most amount of goals wins. This year my moneys on Brighton and Hove Albion U21s

    General Atmosphere

Yeah it’s usually always been a problem at the Kassam for some obvious reasons about the ground itself and location etc. But considering we’re now getting the highest attendances we’ve had since we moved, and we’re in the best league position since we moved, it doesn’t seem to have resulted in...

    General Atmosphere

Unfortunately I couldn’t be at the game on Tuesday because of working late and living in London. I did watch on iFollow, but I watched with the sound off. Firstly because the commentators irk me sometimes, and secondly because I can’t deal with cringing at how poor our home atmosphere is! (Put...

I genuinely can’t wait until Tuesday. Perfect game to put things right. Win or lose up the U’s

    Manager/Coach Des Buckingham

Just been on his Wikipedia page, and while he might not have much EFL experience, I think it’s very impressive reading for a young coach. He’s been a winner pretty much everywhere he’s been so far. I think it’s an exciting appointment, and seems a great fit continuing with the City Group theme...

    National News Rishi Sunak

Seen a few people complaining about Sunak being unelected, but in truth no PM has ever been 'elected' by the public. The public don't vote for a PM in a general election, instead they vote for a local MP in their constituency. Rishi Sunak was voted in for his constituency of Richmond (Yorks)...

New Stadium Plans - The Triangle - Planning

Yes I thought this earlier when looking again at the designs. We want the standing end to go as far up to the back of the roof as much as possible to create a better atmosphere. But the north stand seems to have a big gap between the fans and roof because of the hotel rooms/boxes which I don’t...

New Stadium Plans - The Triangle - Planning

I hope you’re right here. The project is set to cost £100m, which is said to be 30% more than Brentford’s similar sized stadium using the same architects. I wouldn’t have thought it would cost more if the same stadium were to be built at the Triangle than in West London. So unless we really do...

New Stadium Plans - The Triangle - Planning

It’d just be BG Superdome, surely? Remember it doesn’t need to be clear what BG stands for. Seriously though, however much I’d love ‘The New Manor’ or something that sounds like a proper football ground, I’d happily settle for ‘Oxfordshire Community Stadium’ as opposed to a ‘Sponsor Arena’...
