How far away from Oxford do you live?

Calvine, Scottish Highlands - about 460 miles north.....

    League One Alan McLoughlin

I had a long chat with him once about 25 years ago at Bicester Village of all places. We were both waiting for our partners to do their shopping (as so many do there!). He came across as a really decent fella - I remember him stating the Swindon-Oxford derby was great to play in & one of the...

League One Swindon on the brink

    Ex Player Alex Rodriguez Gorrin

Harsh! Both lads definitely played their part in that promotion season. I don't think we lost a game when Perry played!

General Sykes wants to play for the republic

"The Republic are the better team" - are they? Don't think so.......

    Man City 0 Oxford Utd 3 - March 1st 1986

Did anyone got to this game? What are your memories? It was our first game in 3 weeks due to weather I think. Unfortunately I couldn't go but I was at the previous game in early Feb where we hammered Chelsea 1-4 at Stamford Bridge (our first away win in the top flight) and we were unplayable...

    Ex Player Sean Clare

Really?? Having met both since I moved up to Scotland 5 years ago I couldn't disagree with you more.............
  10. The Forgotten Highlander

    Ex Player Sean Clare

Been trying to think of any other deals between the two clubs. The only one I know of is Chris Hackett signing for Hearts for £20k when Graham Rix was briefly their manager. He only started one game and fell out of favour due to Rix predictably getting the sack!

    Ex Player Sean Clare

Well that certainly put him in his place! In fairness the original comment was a pretty scandalous generalisation.......
  12. The Forgotten Highlander

    Ex Player Sean Clare

Would probably have stayed at Hearts had they not been shafted by the SPL......

    How to complete the season

Considering we don't see Wycombe as our rivals there sure are some unreasonable comments aimed their way. All I see is their fans have come on to the forum to put their case for being considered for promotion in a polite and succinct way. The table doesn't lie - they are 1 point behind us with a...

    How to complete the season

Totally agree. You make a great point (no.4) concerning the implications of promotion. It could be a poisoned chalice. I get the impression things are about to turn real nasty.......

    iFollow

I'd only recently started to use iFollow before the lockdown. I paid the tenner for the Ipswich game & the Wimbledon game. So does anyone know how much of that goes to the club?

  19. The Forgotten Highlander

    Aston Villa 2 Oxford Utd 2 Milk Cup Semi-Final 1st leg 1986

Would be interesting to read the memories of fans about this game. I was at the 2nd leg like so many but couldn't make the 1st leg mainly because I was still at school. That first goal really was something of beauty & is probably one of my favourite Oxford away goals. The highlights show we were...

Here’s a coincidence for ya. This was also the only time I saw us from the away end and bizarrely I was living in Maidenhead at the time!!
